8th Grade Science

The Physical Science Department at Vickery Creek Middle School follows the High School Physical Science Georgia Standards for Excellence (GSE) Curriculum.  These standards incorporate instruction for the following topics: Properties of Matter, Chemical Reactions, Energy, Force and Motion, and Waves (including sound and light), as well as Gravity, Electricity and Magnetism.  Since Physical Science is a high school level course, all students will be required to take the GA Milestones End of Course (EOC) assessment in May, which will account for 20% of their overall grade.  Students will NOT take the GA Milestones End of Grade of Assessment (EOG) for 8th grade Physical Science. Consequently, instruction is tailored to help prepare all students for the End of Course Assessment, while meeting the individual needs of both the on-level and advanced students.
