We have a fabulous keynote speaker, Virginia Vereen, of Awareness Ignites Change, along with our new youth clubs and young adult group re:VIVE in addition to several other speakers. There will also be plenty of information geared toward parent education. The sheriff's office will be there to teach parents about what drugs look like and what everyday objects can be used as paraphernalia. Our free summits are a must to stay up-to-date with what our youth face as they are bombarded with a never-ending variety of lethal drugs that didn’t even exist a few years ago. Anxiety hits us all at some point in our lives; however, for many aspiring college students, high-stakes testing brings anxiety levels to new heights and test performance to new lows. But there is hope! There are interventions that effectively reduce test anxiety and lead to performance gains. Let’s discuss practical strategies you can use to help your anxious testers. Let’s explore potential confounding factors such as processing speed deficits and learning differences, familial expectations, generalized anxiety disorders, metacognition, and self-regulation strategies. Help your students take the edge off of high-stakes testing.
