    MISSION: The school counseling program at Haw Creek Elementary is dedicated to providing a supportive school environment, where students are able to build strong relationships and a sense of self, that teaches the key competencies in the areas of social/emotional, academic and career/college to ensure each student reaches their fullest potential.


    A comprehensive school counseling program:

    • serves all students
    • includes large and small group counseling 
    • incorporates short-term individual counseling
    • works with all stakeholders: parents, teachers, and community


    A school counselor is an educator who:

    • Is an advocate for students at school.
    • Works with teachers and parents to provide helpful suggestions and support for student needs.
    • Provides Classroom Lessons for every class.
    • Helps in identifying academic and social/emotional needs of children.
    • Helps children understand themselves and others.
    • Provides parents with resources and information
