  • National Beta Club is the largest independent, non-profit, educational youth organization in America. And for more than 80 years, it has prepared today's students to be tomorrow's leaders.

    To promote the ideals of academic achievement, character, service and leadership among elementary and secondary school students.

    BETA NATIONALS CONSTITUTION

    Believing that exemplary student effort and achievement should be encouraged and rewarded, and seeking to cultivate the ideals of service and leadership in our citizens of tomorrow, the governing body of the National Honorary Beta Club has instituted this organization for the promotion of these ideals and those stated in the Beta Creed, among elementary and secondary school students. To implement this purpose, the following articles have been adopted.

    REQUIREMENTS FOR MEMBERSHIP

    1. Class Standing
      • Current sophomore, junior, or senior students 
    2. Academic Performance
      • Maintain a 3.5+ GPA
      • Must be invited to join the club. Invitations come out at the end of August each year. They are based on students' GPA status. 
      • If you are new to DHS, and want to join Beta Club, please reach out to Ms.Carroll for academic standing. 
    3. Outstanding Behavior
      • No discipline referrals or suspensions (ISS or OSS) for active members
    4. Attendance
      • Must attend 6 out of 8 Beta Club Meetings
        • You may only miss one meeting per semester, unless it is an excused absence. 
      • Excused absences must be approved by the Beta Club sponsor and/or club officers before club meetings.
      • If you know you cannot make a meeting ahead of time, you will need to fill out an excused absence form. 
        • Excused absence forms can be found on itslearning. 
    5. Community Service
      • 2021-2022 
        • Members had to complete 5 service hours per semester (10 hours total for the year.) 
          • 2 of those hours had to be sanctioned (Must be a Beta Club Event)
          • 3 of those hours could be unsanctioned (Any service opportunity from DHS, church, donation center. etc.)
      • BETA DOES NOT ACCEPT THE FOLLOWING HOURS: 
        • Baby Sitting
        • Households Chores
        • Walking Dogs
        • Anything your parents/ guardians signed for. 
        • Anything in which payment was accepted. 
      • Community Service Hours must be documented and signed.
        • Please include pictures as proof.
        • Hours may be signed off by the sponsor or club officers. 
      • Community Service Logs can be found on itslearning. 
    6. Dues
      • Beta Club Nationals requires each beta club member to pay $15 each year, plus $10 for each new member's certificate and pin.
        • DHS New Member dues are $35 (includes national dues, certificate, pin, and T-shirt).
        • DHS Returning Member dues are $20 (includes national dues, and T-shirt). 
      • Membership dues MUST be paid by the end of the deadline. The deadline is currently TBA.

      • All dues must be paid using MyPaymentsPlus

     

    REGISTRATION FOR NEW AND RETURNING MEMBERS IS CURRENTLY CLOSED!
