TIER 3 TITLE I LITERACY CLASSESSTUDENT SELECTION
LMMS uses criteria that are objective, education-related, and uniformly applied to all students as is required by Federal Regulations. The selection must be based on multiple criteria which means more than one specific test or identifier is used.
We seek to look at the academic success of the whole child, which takes into consideration behaviors and habits that may negatively affect the student’s academic progress.
LMMS uses a worksheet to compare the criteria for each student in order to determine who will receive Title I services. After all data has been collected, students are ranked in priority order according to the greatest need for services.
ED, SpEd, MV students are selected for Title I services on the same basis as all other students. These students can be served, but only if their selection is based on the same criteria as everyone else.READINGTitle I Reading Literacy Class serves all eligible students in grades 6 – 8. Class size is kept to a maximum of 15. The text for Reading Literacy is Achieve 3000 online – a computer-based program. Text is supplemented by one-on-one instruction by a highly qualified reading teacher.
