    Science National Honor Society

    SNHS Logo

    Organization Purpose: to encourage participation in and recognition of scientific and intellectual thought, to advance students’ knowledge of classical and modern science, to communicate with the scientific community, to aid the civic community with its comprehension of science, and to encourage students to participate in community service and, in turn, encourage a dedication to the pursuit of scientific knowledge that benefits all humankind.

     

    Meetings: Science National Honor Society meets once a month before school

     

    Qualifications for Membership

    • Junior or Senior (or exceptional sophomore)
    • Overall 3.0 GPA with a 3.5 science GPA
    • Complete at least 2 honors or AP science courses by graduation, 1+ per school year (3 for sophomores, 1+ per year)
    • Flawless behavior record (no administrative referrals)
    • Attend 75% of meetings and events
    • Complete 6 or more hours of service to the scientific community per year
    • Pay annual dues
