    Please email the SFHS Registration Email.  SFHS counselors are monitoring this account and will respond quickly. Personal emails to school counselors related to registration questions will not be prioritized.

    Rising 9th Grade Students/Parents:

    Starting January 27th (once all Rising 9th Grade events have passed), you are now welcome to email our 9th grade school counselor, Ms. Michele Vargas.

  • Need face-to-face time with a school counselor to talk about course registration?

    Current SFHS Students:

    School counselors will be available in the College and Career Center (CCC; room 653) every morning from 8:00-8:25 AM. 

    Additionally, during January 22-29 (while Elective Course Registration and the Waiver Portal are open), school counselors will be available in the War Eagle Dining Hall during ALL lunches. 

    Rising 9th Grade Students:

    January 11 (6:00 PM)- "High School Academics and College Admissions" Virtual Event hosted by The Princeton Review (Click here to pre-register.) 

    January 17 (6:00 PM)- Rising 9th Grade Parent Night (for South Forsyth Middle School and Piney Grove Middle School families) at SFHS

    January 18 (6:00 PM)- Rising 9th Grade Parent Night (for Lakeside Middle School and Out-of-District families) at SFHS

    January 23 (5:30 PM)- FCS Dual Enrollment Information Night at FoCAL Center (Click here to pre-register.)

    January 25 (7:00 PM)- Virtual Q+A for Rising 9th Grade Families (Click here to join.) 

    January 26 (12:00 PM)- Virtual Q+A for Rising 9th Grade Families (Click here to join.) 

  • Registration Timeline

    January 5=

    • Counseling Department will live-stream into IF classrooms to walk current 9-11 grade students through everything course registration

    January 10=

    • teachers will begin having conversations with students regarding course recommendations for next school year as they are the subject matter experts and can best advise students about class placement
    • students should:

    January 16= January 17 (Deadline Extended)=

    January 22-29=

    • Elective Selections portal opens at 8:00 AM on January 22nd and closes at 4:00 PM on January 29th
    • Waiver Form opens at 8:00 am on January 22nd and closes at 4:00 PM on January 29th
    • 24-25 Virtual Registration opens at 8:00 am on January 22nd and will close in early July
    • school counselors will be available in the War Eagle Dining Hall during all lunch periods for registration questions from students

    January 22=

    • 9th grade school counselor will visit South Forsyth Middle School for High School 101/Q+A Meeting

    January 24=

    • 9th grade school counselor will visit Piney Grove Middle School for High School 101/Q+A Meeting

    January 25=

    • 9th grade school counselor will visit Lakeside Middle School for High School 101/Q+A Meeting

    January 29=

    • Elective Selections portal closes at 4:00 PM on January 29th
    • Waiver Form closes at 4:00 PM on January 29th
    • Deadline to apply for the following Application-Based Courses:
      • Culinary Arts
      • Yearbook
      • Peer Facilitation
      • Directed Study (Office Aide)
      • Journalism
      • Internship Forsyth (Work-Based Learning)
      • IE2

    • parents and students will be able to view an updated list of course requests for the 2024-2025 school year in Parent Portal
    • PLEASE NOTE: this is not your student's schedule but just their requests; schedules are built over the summer and will be released towards the end of July
