A graduate of Binghamton University and Touro law school, Mr. Phillips spent the first 30 years of his professional career in the practice of law. He began his legal career as a legal aid attorney in Nassau County New York and subsequently started his own law practice with a concentration in criminal defense litigation, bankruptcy Law, real estate and banking. After moving to the Atlanta area with his family, Mr. Phillips transitioned to the financial service and banking industry utilizing the skill set that he had owned and 30 years as a practicing attorney as a vice president of investments and later as a relationship Bank. He has also served as legal counsel to the New York State Senate and has taught college on the undergraduate level as an adjunct faculty member at Mercy College in Dobbs Ferry New York, teaching political science and U.S. History. This current academic year is his third year at ALLIANCE ACADEMY, where, in addition to teaching the legal services pathway, he serves a faculty advisor to the Alliance skillsUSA chapter and as a faculty Advisor to the ALLIANCE ACADEMY mock trial team.

This is my 24th year as a teacher with 23 spent teaching in Forsyth County.  Before coming to Alliance Academy in 2018. I taught engineering and computer science at FCHS. Here at Alliance Academy for Innovation I teach Introduction to Financial Technology, Introduction to Software Technology and Advanced Cybersecurity.

I also serve as a TSA & VEX adviser. No matter what I teach, my goal is to encourage my students to find their passion and never stop learning, which will serve them well in the constantly changing technology, computer science and cybersecurity fields.

I am thrilled to be the International Business teacher here at Alliance Academy For Innovation. I received a bachelor's degrees in business administration & marketing from the University of North Georgia - Mike Cotrell College of Business and I bring a history of working in non-profit organizations. I served as the Director of Marketing and am also the FBLA advisor here at Alliance Academy For Innovation. I am passionate to see the next generation of leaders be successful and well prepared for whatever is next after high school. I teach Introduction to International Business, Global Awareness & Cultural Competency, & International Business Concepts.

 Outside of my professional life, I enjoy traveling with my wife, who is an Oncology Nurse at Northside Hospital, going to the lake, making espresso, Alabama football, & Atlanta Braves baseball. My favorite band are The Avett Brothers and I strongly believe Seinfeld is the best show on television.
