As part of our PBIS work, we have implemented an acknowledgment system that allows us to recognize and reinforce positive behaviors in our students. This is done through the use of a token that we call "GRIT Coin." Staff members have these on hand and will write a recognition slip for students when they see them displaying Generosity, Responsibility, Integrity, or Teamwork throughout the building. 

Q1 Goals & Rewards

For the first quarter, students worked toward the following goals: 

300 GRIT Coin = Music in the Cafeteria

600 GRIT Coin = Music + Lunch on the Lawn

1000 GRIT Coin = Music + Lunch on the Lawn + Popsicles

We are proud to report that, during the first quarter, students received a total of 3,334 GRIT Coin! For our first nine weeks of implementation, this is outsanding! 

On Friday, October 15th, all grade levels enjoyed a celebration with the rewards that they earned! 

Q2 Goals & Rewards

For the second quarter, students were working to meet the following goals to earn rewards: 

300 GRIT Coin = Pajama Day

600 GRIT Coin = Pajama Day + Popcorn

1000 GRIT Coin = Pajama Day + Popcorn + Hot Chocolate

Our day of celebration for Q2 was held on Tuesday, December 21st! All grade levels could wear PJs, every student received a bag of popcorn, and 6th grade students also had hot chocolate! Thank you to our volunteers who helped prepare bags of popcorn and cups of hot cocoa! 

Q3 Goals & Rewards

For the third quarter, students were working to meet the following goals to earn rewards: 

300 GRIT Coin = Chill & Chat during Thrive

500 GRIT Coin = Walk & Talk during Thrive

700 = Music in the Cafeteria during Lunch

1000 = Free Seating in the Cafeteria 

All grade levels earned the first three rewards this quarter! We were so impressed with the amount of GRIT Coin earned by students during this nine-week period, and we can't wait to see what they accomplish in Quarter 4! 

Q4 Goals & Rewards

For the fourth quarter, students are working to meet the following goals to earn rewards: 

300 GRIT Coin = Lunch Outside

500 GRIT Coin = Popsicles & Lunch Outside

700 GRIT Coin = Schoolwide BINGO

We kicked off the fourth quarter a little early with a GRIT Pep Rally on March 10th! We reviewed behavior expectations with all students before playing some fun games with staff and students. It was an awesome way to begin the last quarter of the year!
