The Mathematics program at South Forsyth Middle School is challenging and rigorous at each level that is offered. Teachers follow the Georgia Standards of Excellence for Mathematics, as well as county guidelines. In 6th Grade, there are three different levels of math. For students to be considered for accelerated 6th Grade math, they had to qualify at the end of 5th Grade. 

On Level 6th Grade Math: This is the standard course for sixth grade. Students master all of the 6th Grade Georgia Standards of Excellence. 

Advanced 6th Grade Math: In this course, students master all of the 6th Grade Georgia Standards of Excellence, as well as specific 7th Grade Numerical Reasoning and Patterning & Algebraic Reasoning standards.  

Accelerated 6th Grade Math: In this course, students master all of the 6th Grade Georgia Standards of Excellence, as well as all of the first semester 7th Grade Numerical Reasoning and Pattering & Algebraic Reasoning standards.
