Recently, Dr. Jim and Peggie Morrow moved the iChallenge to the Forsyth County Education Foundation, a fund of the North Georgia Community Foundation. Forsyth County Schools is extremely grateful for the devices and hotspots this program provided to thousands of students. The Forsyth County Education Foundation is committed to growing the iChallenge. Up until now, the foundation has focused on providing school grants with the Duck Dive for Education fundraiser, held each spring. With the addition of the Dr. Jim and Peggie Morrow iChallenge, the foundation can expand its reach to a new area of need – ensuring we have the best of the best teaching and supporting our students!

Forsyth County Schools is not immune to the teacher and school counselor shortage facing our nation. We have found recent success “growing our own” by establishing teacher prep programs at all Forsyth County high schools, but face a large void when it comes to supporting the educational needs of current paraprofessionals (teacher assistants) who wish to advance to a teaching position and teachers who wish to advance to a school counselor role. With your help, the 2022 iChallenge is funding these much-needed staff scholarships for current FCS employees in these two areas!

    What is an iChallenge?

Our 28-day Fitness iChallenge was open to students, teachers/staff, families, and community members in October, 2022. Participants were encouraged to walk, run, bike, hike, waddle, and/or complete other fitness activities to create healthy habits while supporting the Forsyth County Education Foundation.

The first 1,700 participants received a custom cooling headband! All participants who log their activities virtually had a chance to win prizes below:

    • One annual traveling trophy for the school that has the greatest median time
    • The school leader of the winning school will receive a $150 classroom grant
    • The individual with the most minutes at the winning school will receive a $150 gift card
    • The individual with the most minutes overall will receive a $300 gift card
    • All participants will receive a certificate
