Welcome to the Creative Writing Club!
Who: Open to all students 6-8 grade. Mrs. Swartz and Ms. Baptie are the club sponsors.
What: The Creative Writing Club is for students who enjoy writing for fun! During our monthly meetings, we play writing games and have fun brainstorming sessions. Depending on student interest, we may have short mini-lessons about different styles of writing (such as screenwriting or poetry). We also have four writing contests throughout the school year where students can submit work in the hopes that it'll be published in our annual literary magazine. Be sure to check itslearning for updates on our club meetings and contests.
When: The second Wednesday of every month at 8AM* (subject to change depending on our school calendar)
Where: Mrs. Swartz's classroom (283--on the new 8th grade hall)
Why: There are not many opportunities for students who are talented in the literary arts to share their passion! Our aim is to provide a space where like-minded students can get together and have fun with writing!
If you are interested in joining the Creative Writing Club, ask your language arts teacher for more information!
