Winter Change of Command 1st Semester

             On January 11, 2023, North Forsyth High School held the MCJROTC 2022 Semester Change of Command Ceremony. The outgoing Raider Battalion commander passed on her command to the new incoming Battalion commander. Additionally, cadets who worked diligently all semester were publicly recognized for their hard work and received their well-deserved promotions. 

             The outgoing Battalion commander, Cadet Colonel Cheyene Hencely, was promoted to the highest MCJROTC rank and was awarded the Superior Cadet award and received the Marine Corps Medal. After a motivational speech from Cadet Hencely, she called up the incoming Battalion Commander, Cadet Lieutenant Colonel Joel Unger, and passed over her command to him. Finally, Cadet Unger presented Cadet Major Zoey Odom with her new role as Raider Battalion Executive Officer.

             Along with the new Battalion leadership, cadets were promoted on a company level, with new cadets filling necessary leadership roles that came with the new semester. Our most meritorious cadets were also recognized and were meritoriously promoted.
