Forsyth County Schools and the Community:

As the 5th largest district of 180 in Georgia, Forsyth County Schools (FCS) serves 55,300+ students representing 129 countries and 69 languages. In the past decade, our student enrollment has increased by 40%. We built nine new schools in this period and all existing schools received additions and/or improvements within the past two decades. FCS is home to 42 schools – 23 elementary, 11 middle, and 8 high (including a college and career school), and 8 support facilities. Our vision is a safe, connected, and thriving community for all.

With a family of 8,000+ exceptional employees and unmatched parent/guardian and community support, FCS has a strong history of high academic performance and financial accountability. Academic highlights include achieving the highest graduation rate (96%) and ACT score among metro Atlanta and large districts, and the highest SAT score in Georgia. FCS is the only school district in the state to receive a seven-year consecutive 5-out-of-5 Star Financial Efficiency Rating from the Georgia Department of Education. We operate on a $652 million budget, with 52% of the income from local funds and 48% from state and federal funds. FCS’ per-pupil expenditure is $10,132, which is the lowest among the 12 largest districts in Georgia.

As the nation's 6th fastest-growing county, Forsyth County is 30 minutes north of Atlanta, minutes from the Blue Ridge Mountains, and nestled alongside Lake Lanier. Numerous world-class parks, recreational and cultural activities, and award-winning healthcare services are available for residents. Forsyth County is the wealthiest county in the state, with a highly educated community and a diverse economic profile.
