Forsyth County Schools is officially an Economic Development Partnership district! By working closely with local businesses and community partners, we’re giving students real-world skills and building a stronger local economy.

The Economic Development Partnership (EDP) designation, awarded by the Georgia Department of Education in collaboration with the Georgia Economic Developers Association (GEDA) and Georgia Power, formally recognizes school districts that demonstrate excellence in aligning K-12 education with workforce and economic development priorities.

Districts earning this designation implement systemic practices that strengthen the connection between classroom instruction and regional labor market demands. Key components include providing rigorous Career, Technical, and Agricultural Education (CTAE) pathways, expanding access to work-based learning and youth apprenticeship opportunities, and embedding industry engagement into program planning and delivery.

In addition, EDP-designated districts are active participants in economic development initiatives, contributing directly to business recruitment, retention, and expansion efforts by showcasing their capacity to produce a career-ready, technically skilled workforce. The designation also affirms a district’s ability to convene and collaborate with business, civic, and community partners in support of long-term economic vitality.

Forsyth County Schools earned the Economic Development Partnership designation during the 2024–25 school year, highlighting the district’s leadership in preparing students for future careers while strengthening the region’s workforce pipeline. This recognition underscores the district’s commitment to both student success and the economic competitiveness of its community and the state of Georgia.
