Facility Planning

The Forsyth County Schools' Facilities Department works closely with the county's Planning and Zoning Department. Our staff monthly receives residential zoning classifications (does not include commercial) and prepares impact statements for each project. Summary sheets are posted here for your information.

ASBESTOS MANAGEMENT PLAN NOTIFICATION FORSYTH COUNTY SCHOOL SYSTEM

August 2025

The Forsyth County School System AHERA Management Plan is available for public inspection upon request at the Forsyth County Board of Education Office, 1120 Dahlonega Hwy., Cumming, Georgia 30040.  This notification is provided to fulfill the requirement of section 763.93(4) of the Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act., 40CFR Part 763, October 30, 1987.  All interested parents, teachers, employees or other persons are invited to review the plan, which includes the following items:

1. Location, amounts and types of asbestos-contained materials in all schools and support buildings.
2. Response actions to the asbestos-contained materials by the Forsyth County School System.
3. Plans for re-inspection, periodic surveillance, operation and maintenance programs.

• No additional removal or remediation has occurred this past year.
• Continuing bi-annual surveillance and inspections as required.
