Progressive discipline should always be considered when developing an appropriate consequence for students. However, more serious offenses may require immediate long-term suspensions. Please see the Code of Conduct. For more information, please contact School Safety.
Gateway Academy application procedure--- at the conclusion of tribunals, the Safety Office will give parents an application packet for Gateway. If the parents want to apply to Gateway they will fill out the packet and return it to the Gateway office. After administrators review the application, parents will be notified of acceptance (or not) and contacted about attending the next orientation. This allows time for our counselor to review transcripts, complete a class schedule, and print a current grade report for teachers. When the student comes to orientation, everything will be in place for them to start the next day. If parents sign a tribunal waiver at the base school, please give them the Gateway application packet and tell them to complete it and turn in to the Gateway office. Then our counselor will follow the same procedure with transcripts, etc.
