Mathematics
Beginning with the 2023-2024 School Year, Forsyth County Schools will transition from Georgia Standards of Excellence to Georgia's K-12 Mathematics Standards. In order to meet graduation requirements, students must complete at least four credits of mathematics, including Algebra: Concepts and Connections, Geometry: Concepts and Connections, Advanced Algebra: Concepts and Connections, and a fourth course above Advanced Algebra.

Calculator Usage: Calculator usage varies from one mathematics course to another, depending upon the course objectives and content. A substantial portion of the mathematics curriculum encourages and promotes the use of calculators to enhance understanding of concepts. A scientific calculator is used in all math classes (TI-30XIIS Multiview recommended); a graphing calculator and a scientific calculator are required to be used in all classes above Geometry. The department recommends a TI-84 if the student is purchasing a graphing calculator.
