Michelle Carr, Assistant Principal
A native, Georgian, Ms. Carr knew from an early age she was born to be an educator. She began her teaching career in middle school in her hometown of Milledgeville, GA in 1993. Georgia College & State University in Milledgeville is her alma mater and where Ms. Carr obtained her Bachelors in Middle Grades and both her Masters and Specialists degrees in Educational Leadership.She is most fascinated with how the brain works and has attended multiple conferences on learning and the brain which included investigating a real, human brain, dog brains and monkey spines, as well as fruit flies used for Alzheimer’s research at the University of Texas. Ms. Carr has attended various lectures at MIT, Harvard, and Washington, D.C. with Learning & the Brain conferences, and she has been a presenter at GA School Counselors Association.
Ms. Carr provides administrative support, primarily, to Kindergarten, 1st grades, and 2nd grades at Settles Bridge, but she serves any student, parent, or staff member as needed. Ms. Carr finds it a great privilege to love her work – the work of developing people and making the world a better place!
Mark Graves, Assistant Principal
It’s great to be a Settles Bridge Superstar! My name is Mark Graves, and I serve as one of the Assistant Principals at our fabulous school.This will be my sixth year as an Assistant Principal at Settles Bridge, and my 12th year as an administrator. I graduated from Furman University, and obtained a Master’s Degree from Florida State University. I also attended the University of Tennessee where I played college football. In 2006 I obtained my leadership degree from Kennesaw State University. As a classroom teacher, I taught both second and fourth grade. I’m married and have two wonderful children. My goal each day is to make a positive impact on the lives of the children I serve. I look forward to another successful school year here at Settles Bridge. Just remember, you’re a Superstar, no matter where you are!
