I knew at a young age that I wanted to be a teacher and help change the lives of young children. Teaching is my life and I love coming to work each morning knowing I am going to help students ignite their flame for learning.
I was born and raised in the great state of Texas and graduated with my Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies with a specialization in Reading from Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas. In the years of teaching, I have taught 1st, 3rd, 4th and 5th grades.
I am married to my high school sweetheart, Travis and we are blessed to have a wonderful daughter named Emma and a German Shepherd named Piper. I look forward to this fantastic year of fun and adventures in learning!

I have been teaching elementary school in Forsyth County since 1996 and began at Settles Bridge in 1999, its inaugural year. I have enjoyed teaching 4th grade, 5th grade, and the Gifted and Talented class. I am looking forward to another year of teaching, and I am honored to teach in such an amazing school.

Greeting Stars! I am lucky enough to have taught at Settles Bridge Elementary since 2007 in grades 3, 4 and 5 (fifth is my favorite). I have a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Education from The Ohio State University (Go Buckeyes!). I also hold a certification in ESOL. I am married (to Ed) and we have three awesome kids - Morgan, 22, Cole 19, and Gwyneth, 18. I have three sweet dogs, and I love to garden, decorate, and travel to new places. I know that fifth grade can be a bit challenging, but it is also a great deal of fun. I am looking forward to a wonderful school year!

Following family traditions, I found my natural calling as an elementary school teacher over 11 years ago. My goal is to always create an environment where students learn to set goals, and we work together to reach them! Staying current on teaching strategies that fosters student engagement is essential. Teaching students to learn is my passion, but I also lead by example by being a lifelong learner. I current have a Bachelor's of Science in Education (2010) from the University of Alabama at Birmingham; a Masters of Psychology and Counseling (2012) from the University of West Alabama; a Education Specialist in Curriculum Instruction (2017) from Piedmont College. I am currently attending the University of North Georgia working towards an Administration Leadership Certificate. I am elated to begin my 7th year at SBE!
