Megan Bass - Assistant Principal

I am excited for another year serving as one of Sharon’s Assistant Principals. I am looking forward to continuing to build connections with our students, staff, and families.

I am a Georgia native and attended the University of West Georgia (Go Wolves!). There I received my Bachelors of Science in Early Childhood Education. Once I began teaching, I also received my Masters and Specialist degrees at the University of West Georgia. Additionally, I have reading and gifted endorsements and a Leadership Add-On certificate. Before going into leadership, I taught 1st grade, 4th grade, grades K-5 with the Early Intervention Program, and was an instructional coach.

When away from school, I enjoy spending time with my husband and our two kids, Bree and Rhett. Bree is in second grade at Matt Elementary, and Rhett is four. We are expecting our third child early this school year! We also have a dog, Millie. Together, we like to spend time outdoors or on the lake, visit with family and friends, watch sports, and have movie nights at home.

Have the best school year, Knights!

I am excited for my 2nd year as an assistant principal at Sharon! I began my career in Gwinnett County where I served as a Third Grade Teacher, K-5 Math Specials Teacher, K-5 Math Coach and Assistant Principal. In 2015, I joined Forsyth County Schools as an Assistant Principal at Kelly Mill Elementary, Midway Elementary and now Sharon Elementary. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education from Georgia State University, a Master’s Degree from Brenau University, a Leadership Add-on from the University of West Georgia, and a Specialist Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Piedmont College. I was born and raised in the Atlanta area and my family now resides in West Forsyth. I have been married for 12 years and we have an amazing 10 year old daughter, Brooklyn. She is in the fifth grade at Kelly Mill Elementary and loves gymnastics. We also have a 6 year old Aussiedoodle, Parker.  When we are not at the gym watching Brooklyn compete or practice, we enjoy being on or near the water, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.

I am looking forward to another great year at Sharon working with the staff, students, and community!
