Dr. Brian Keefer - Principal

Hello, and welcome to Sharon Elementary! It is an honor to serve the Sharon Elementary community as Principal in a partnership that ensures every student's whole-child growth. Sharon offers an unparalleled experience for students and families. I look forward to meeting you and learning your story and your child's story. My door is always open, and I encourage you to reach out as we work together in a state of continuous improvement to meet the needs of each student best.

My professional journey has included experiences in Pennsylvania (where I was born and raised), Maryland, South Carolina, and Georgia. Over the course of my 22-years in public education, I have served as an Elementary Teacher, Special Education Teacher in all grades K-12, Alternative School Teacher, Instructional Coach, Assistant Principal, Co-Principal, and am beginning my 8th year as Principal.

I earned my Bachelors Degree from Millersville University of Pennsylvania in Elementary Education and Special Education, as well as my Masters Degree in Educational Leadership and Curriculum and Instruction, my Education Specialist Degree from Georgia Southern University in Educational Leadership with an ESOL Endorsement, and my Doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of Georgia.

On a personal note, my favorite hobbies are running, hiking, playing golf, and spending time on the lake, all of which I do with my wife, Karlina, who is a Speech-Language Pathologist in FCS, my 13 year old son Cale, and my 8 year old son Rowan (who is also a student at Sharon). We are so excited to be part of the Forsyth County Community!

Megan Bass - Assistant Principal

Hi! My name is Megan Bass, and I am thrilled to be returning to Sharon as the assistant principal.

I am a Georgia native and attended the University of West Georgia (Go Wolves!). There I received my Bachelors of Science in Early Childhood Education. Once I began teaching, I also received my Masters and Specialist degrees at the University of West Georgia. Additionally, I have reading and gifted endorsements and a Leadership Add-On certificate. I have been in education for 12 years. I taught 1st grade, 4th grade, and grades K-5 with the Early Intervention Program. Most recently, I had the opportunity to work alongside the amazing teachers at Sharon as the instructional coach. I look forward to continuing to serve Sharon’s students, staff, and families in the assistant principal role.

When away from school, I enjoy spending time with my husband and our two kids, Bree and Rhett. Bree is in first grade, and Rhett is three. We also have a dog, Millie, and a cat, Cori. Together, we like to spend time outdoors or on the lake, visit family and friends, watch sports, and have at-home movie nights.

Have the best school year, Knights!
