Mr. Brian Keefer, Principal

Hello, and welcome to Sharon Elementary! I am joining the Sharon Family as Principal this year, after having served the previous six years as Principal of Hampton Elementary School in Henry County, Georgia.  My professional journey has included experiences in Pennsylvania (where I was born and raised), Maryland, South Carolina and Georgia.  Over the course of my 21-years in public education, I have served as an Elementary Teacher, Special Education Teacher in all grades K-12, Alternative School Teacher, Instructional Coach, Assistant Principal, Co-Principal and Principal. I earned my Bachelors Degree from Millersville University of Pennsylvania in Elementary Education and Special Education, as well as my Masters Degree in Educational Leadership and Curriculum and Instruction, my Education Specialist Degree from Georgia Southern University in Educational Leadership with an ESOL Endorsement, and will complete my Doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of Georgia in Spring 2022!

It is an honor to serve the Sharon Elementary community in a partnership which ensures the whole-child growth of every student.  As I assimilate to the Sharon Elementary community, I look forward to meeting you and learning your story, and the story of your child.  My door is always open, and I encourage you to reach out as we work together in a state of continuous improvement to best meet the needs of each student.

On a personal note, my favorite hobbies are running, hiking, playing golf, and spending time on the lake, all of which I do with my wife, Karlina, who is a Speech Language Pathologist in FCS, my 12 year old son Cale, and my 7 year old son Rowan (who is also a student at Sharon). We are so excited to be part of the Forsyth County Community!

Mrs. Rachel Moity, Assistant Principal

I am excited to begin my fourth year at Sharon Elementary as Assistant Principal.  It is truly an honor to be a part of the Sharon family. I look forward to coming to work each and every day because I am surrounded by positive and passionate leaders, teachers, and students.

I began my career in education as a 2nd grade teacher just outside of New Orleans, Louisiana in 2004. Sadly this opportunity was cut short in the beginning of my second year due to Hurricane Katrina. I was fortunate to have a new opportunity as a Pre-K teacher before making the move to Georgia in 2007.

My husband Ryan and I moved to Georgia just before the birth of our first child, Addyson. The next year I began teaching 1st grade in Gwinnett County. Ryan and I welcomed our second child, Brayden, in 2009. In 2012, I I joined Forsyth County as a kindergarten teacher at Vickery Creek Elementary. The next year I served as an instructional coach. I enjoyed working with teachers and students in a new capacity.

My instructional coaching  experience inspired me to pursue a  leadership degree. I completed both my masters degree and specialist degree over the next few years. Ryan and I also welcomed our third child, Easton, in 2015. After completing my fifth year at Vickery Creek, I joined the leadership team at Daves Creek as Quality Work Facilitator. I am so thankful for the knowledge and experience I gained in just one year from the leaders, teachers, and students at Daves Creek before I began my journey here at Sharon Elementary.
