I am so excited for another great school year at Sharon and another wonderful year of kindergarten! I grew up in the Atlanta area so Georgia really is home to me. I obtained my degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Georgia (Go Dawgs!). I also have my ESOL endorsement and took part in the Orton-Gillingham training four summers ago. From the time I was little, I knew I wanted to be a teacher and as I got older I jumped at every opportunity to work with students and be in schools. During my time at UGA, I was able to study abroad and teach English to second graders in Italy. This was such an amazing experience and combined two of my favorite things: teaching and traveling! After graduating, I taught first grade for two years in Gwinnett County. Then I joined the Sharon family and this will be my sixth year teaching kindergarten here at Sharon! Kindergarten is my happy place --it truly is magical! In my free time, I enjoy cooking, spending time with family and friends, traveling and taking my seven-year-old Golden Retriever, Banks, for walks and hikes.

Mrs. Samantha Francisco

I am so excited to join the Sharon family this year! My family and I recently relocated from southern California, where I was a first grade teacher for the past three years. Prior to first grade, I was a reading and math intervention teacher for kindergarten through sixth grade. When I was little, I dreamt of being a teacher and working with students. I am so grateful to share my passion for learning with students. I am thrilled to be teaching kindergarten this year, as the primary grades hold a special place in my heart!

I am originally from Georgia, and received my Bachelor’s degree from the University of Georgia. In California, I went to California Lutheran University to earn my elementary teaching credential. My husband, Joe, and I have a five year old son, Noah, who will also be starting kindergarten this year! We are happy to be back home in Georgia with friends and family. I look forward to an amazing year in kindergarten here at Sharon!

Mrs. Kelly Scherer

Hi! My name is Kelly Scherer and I love being a part of the Sharon Kindergarten team!

I received my Bachelor’s degree at the University of North Florida in Elementary Education and taught 3rd grade right out of college. After having kids, I took a hiatus from teaching and became a stay-at-home mom. I worked as a preschool teacher for several years and then joined Sharon Elementary a year ago.

I was born and raised in Jacksonville, FL and lived there my entire life until 6 years ago.  In 2016, my husband’s job took our family to the Dallas, Texas area. We enjoyed our time in Texas, but when an opportunity at work was presented to my husband to move back east closer to family, we took it. We moved to Cumming 4 years ago and have been loving our life in Georgia ever since! My wonderful husband and I have 2 amazing children - our daughter, Leah, who is in 10th grade and our son, Levi, who is in 7th grade.

In my spare time, I enjoy hanging out with my family, reading, hiking, exercising, baking, and traveling.
