I am very excited to be teaching at Sharon Elementary.  This is my 23rd year of teaching elementary school in Georgia and New Hampshire!  I am married to my wonderful husband, John, and have 4 sons, Shane 24, Zachary 23, Ryan 17 and Kyle 11.  I also have 4 fur babies,  2 dogs- Roman (boxer) and Chloe (shih tzu) and 2 cats - Little Joe and Lucy. We are always busy and having fun with the family.  My favorite things to do are reading, hiking, boating, shopping and playing (or watching!) sports - especially my boys and the NE Patriots.

I grew up in Pennsylvania and received my teaching degree at California University of PA.  After college, I moved to GA where I began my career teaching Kindergarten and 1st grade.  My family and I moved to NH for two years where I taught 2nd grade, then we moved back to GA for 3 years and I taught 3rd grade.  Our family missed the seasons and beauty of New England, so we moved back to NH for 3 years and I taught a year each in 1st grade, 2nd grade and 5th grade.  Even though we absolutely love New Hampshire we decided to move back (for good!) to be closer to family. We are excited to have made our home in Forsyth County. I am absolutely thrilled to work with you and your child to make their 3rd grade year a wonderful experience.

Welcome to Third Grade! I am so excited to be a part of this amazing Sharon family again this year and to be able to spend valuable time with these smart, fun, and eager students! I have had the unique opportunities to have been a part of the Sharon family by being involved over the past six years as a parent, volunteer, substitute, and teacher.  This will be my twelfth year teaching alongside some of the best educators! I feel so lucky to LOVE my work!

Born and raised in Mobile, Alabama, I earned my Bachelor's in Early Childhood Education from Birmingham-Southern College and my Master's in Reading Instruction from the University of Montevallo. I also earned my gifted endorsement from the state of Georgia. Last summer, I completed training to become a Level One Google Educator. My teaching career has spanned across two states, three school systems, and over 10 years. Although I chose to stay home and raise my two children, I never stopped wanting to learn, and I knew I'd be back in the classroom again. Teaching and learning are my passions, and I hope to share my excitement with your child this year!

My husband Ken and I have been married for 16 years. We have two children, Jack, an eighth-grader and Emmie, a sixth grader both at South Forsyth Middle. Outside of school, you will most likely find me cheering on my kids and their teams from the pool deck and soccer field. In my spare time, I enjoy being anywhere with water, shopping, and spending time with friends and family. I am honored to be your child's teacher this year, and can't wait to begin our stellar year together!

Welcome to 3rd Grade! I hope you and your family are having a fun and relaxing summer vacation.

I wanted to give you a little information about myself. I was born and raised in Toccoa, Georgia. I graduated from Georgia Southern University with a bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education. Mike and I have three beautiful children. McKenzie will be a Freshman at Georgia Southern University, Michael will be in 10th Grade at Lambert, and Jack will be in 8th grade at South Forsyth Middle School. They are the loves of our life, and we enjoy every minute we spend with them! I also have two adorable dogs…Georgia and Chubb. I am a huge sports fan. I love UGA football, watching my kids play sports(McKenzie will be cheering for GSU this year 😊) , shopping, reading magazines, and I also love listening to country music.

This will be my 23rd year teaching in Forsyth County. I taught four years in Kindergarten, one year in 1st grade, and eighteen years in 3rd grade. Every year has been exciting and memorable, as I have been lucky to teach such wonderful students. Sharon Elementary School is a great place where I truly enjoy being around such enthusiastic students, staff, and parents.

In my classroom, I promote an atmosphere of safety, trust, and respect.  I work hard build a sense of community among my students, and I emphasize the idea of teamwork.  I value cooperation and collaboration both in my classroom and as I work with my peers.  I believe that great things can happen when we work together! Sharon is a place where I really feel like part of a strong community and part of a winning team. This year will be fun and exciting.  I am committed to teaching your child in a positive, supportive, and loving environment in which every child is successful! Thank you for giving me the opportunity to share my love for learning with your child.

I am so happy to be at Sharon Elementary, working with the best staff, the best parents and the best students! I was born and raised in Ohio, but moved to Georgia with my family in 1984. After graduating from Oglethorpe University in Atlanta, I began my teaching career in Cobb County. I taught 3rd grade (my favorite!) in the same school, even the same room for 10 years! During that time I met and married my husband, Jackson. We moved to Jacksonville, Florida and then Charleston, South Carolina. During my 8 years in Florida and South Carolina I continued teaching as a reading safety-net teacher, kindergarten special education teacher and a science lab instructor. Finally, 10 years ago, we made it back to Georgia! I worked again in Cobb County for 2 years as a science lab instructor. My love of science is enormous and I love to share my lab experiences with the students of Sharon! This will be my eighth year working here at Sharon and I am excited for my next group of third graders!

My home is a busy place with my husband, Jackson and my 3 children. My daughter, Rachel is in her first year of medical school at Emory University and we are busy planning for her wedding next June! My second daughter, Emily, attends  the University of Tennessee studying interior architecture! My youngest, Ryan is a senior at Pinecrest Academy.  I also have a super cute Schnauzer named Quincy! I spend my weekends watching Ryan play lacrosse, planning the wedding,  taking Quincy to the dog park, and driving up to Tennessee to see my daughter! Go Vols!

I am Laura Steiger. Here is a little info about me! I have spent the majority of my childhood living in Dunwoody and am a graduate of Dunwoody High School. I received my B.S. in Early Childhood Education from the University of Georgia (yes, I am a HUGE BULLDOG fan). I have four beautiful children!  Ryan, my son will be a Senior this year at Lambert! Olivia, my "baby" will be a 9th grader at Lambert.  My step-daughter, Caroline,  will be an 8th grader at Webb Bridge Middle School, and the baby of our family, my step-son, Chris, will be a 6th grader at Webb Bridge.  In my free time, I love to read, cook, run, SHOP, and spend time with my sweet husband and our crazy crew of kids!!  Not necessarily in that order!!

This is my 24th year teaching. I began my teaching career in Gwinnett County at Simpson Elementary. I have taught Kindergarten, First, Second, and Third Grades. After taking a few years off to spend a little extra time at home, I returned to teaching at Sharon. Welcome to Third Grade! I am thrilled to be at the beginning of another school year! Here is a little background about me: I have wanted to be a teacher for as long as I can remember. Teaching is what I love to do and it's where my heart is. I love helping students discover a love of learning! It's amazing to see how much growth they make in a year. This school year marks my 14th year of teaching. I spent the first 6 years of my career teaching second grade in Jackson County. This year is my 8th year as a third grade teacher at Sharon Elementary. I could not be more proud to call myself a Sharon Knight!

I am originally from upstate NY, and went to college in Boston, Massachusetts. While in Boston, I earned a Bachelors degree in Elementary Education and Human Development. After college, we moved to Georgia, and I later went on to earn a Masters degree in Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment. My husband Matt and I have been married for eleven years and we have three beautiful children. My step-daughter Dianna will be a Senior this year at Lambert. Our two youngest are here with me at Sharon. Our son, MJ will be in 3rd grade this year, and our youngest Shea will be in Kindergarten! We also have two dogs named Ollie and Penny. Outside of school, I love to spend time with my family, read, watch football (go Giants!), cook, and bake.

I cannot wait to meet my new group of third graders. I know it's going to be a fantastic year!
