Meet the 4th Grade Teachers
School Phone: (770) 888-7511 Altom, CharlaI am a two-time graduate of Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama which is my hometown. I completed a bachelor's and master's degree in Elementary Education. I am beginning my fifteenth year of teaching. I love children of all ages and enjoy teaching different grade levels and subjects! I have taught all elementary grades except for Kindergarten and 2nd but I have taught 2nd grade math! Most recently I have taught fifth grade in Johns Creek where I live. Most of my teaching career has been spent teaching fourth grade so I am thrilled to be at Sharon teaching this great age group!I am married to Kent Altom who is an attorney who also teaches Business Law at Kennesaw State University. We have just celebrated our twenty-first anniversary. We have a twelve year old daughter, Carly who will be a a seventh grade student at Taylor Road Middle School this year.In my spare time I love to travel and spend time at the pool and beach. I love eating out and exploring new restaurants. I am an avid Auburn football fan having grown up going to all the games with my family who all graduated from there except for me! I love all things girly like manicures, pedicures, massages, shopping, and taking photographs and making photo books online. I also exercise regularly. Spending time with family is super important to me.I want your child to experience a kind, loving and caring teacher. I am flexible, nurturing and very approachable. I want this to be the best year your child could dream of having. My classroom has a “family atmosphere” and I know that is what Sharon Elementary is known for. This reputation led me to the school and I could not be happier or more proud to be a part of the Sharon Family!” 122166 firstname.lastname@example.org Beverly, Kristin
Georgia became my home 5 years ago, and Sharon Elementary School became my “home away from home” when I started working here 4 years ago! I am looking forward to another great year of teaching 4th grade at Sharon. Because my husband was a Marine for many years we moved often. I have taught 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th grade in Illinois, North Carolina and Florida.
I have always wanted to be a teacher and earned my B.A. in Elementary Education from Wheaton College in Illinois. I am middle school certified to teach ELA and Social Studies as well as Gifted Endorsed.
When I am not teaching, I try to spend my time with my husband, and four children, one of whom is enrolled at Sharon, two of whom are now in middle school, and one who is a high schooler. Our family likes to go hiking and play outdoors!
I am looking forward to this year being my best year yet in 4th grade!

Hello!! Welcome to fourth grade! I have lived in Georgia since I was a little girl and moved to Forsyth County when I started teaching. My husband, Thomas, and I love this area! We welcomed our first son, Thomas Robert, to our lives on March 4, 2017! He brings so much joy to our lives! You will hear lots of stories and see lots of pictures!
I graduated from North Georgia College and State University with a dual degree in Early Childhood Education. I also obtained a reading endorsement. I attained my Master's degree through North Georgia College and State University in Early Education while also earning my ESOL endorsement. I then pursued and obtained my Specialist's Degree in Teacher Leadership through Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia. It was well worth the effort!! Finally, I worked hard to obtain my gifted endorsement through Forsyth County in 2011.
Recently, I have been very involved in the BYOT initiative taking place in Forsyth County and have started implementing flexible seating in my classroom. I have attended many conferences, including ISTE and GAETC to make our year even better with all that technology can offer! I have traveled to many places including Poland to help teach English for three weeks! These were all amazing opportunities, both professionally and personally. I cannot wait to share pictures and stories! I recently completed my twelfth year at Sharon Elementary. We had a lot of fun and learned many new and exciting things. Our slogan was: "Hard work pays off!" I have many engaging projects and experiments just waiting for you! I cannot wait to begin our fourth grade journey together!

Born and raised in New York, I moved to Georgia with my husband almost nine years ago. He is a chiropractor, and we have a beautiful (4yo) boy and two fur babies! Outside of school, I love doing all things crafty, reading, hiking, and rediscovering the world from a 4 year-old's perspective!
I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and a Master's Degree in Elementary Education. I have taught 1st, 3rd, and 4th grades - including four years in an all-boys classroom! I have a passion for creating meaningful learning experiences and relationships within my classroom. Each year brings an opportunity to create an in-school family unit, who support and encourage each other throughout our learning adventures. This will be my ninth year teaching and my fourth year at Sharon, and I love being a part of this community.

My name is Jessica Nardecchia, and I am so excited to be a part of the Sharon Elementary family this year. I earned both my Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education and my Master of Arts in Education, with an endorsement in reading, from The University of Findlay, located in Ohio. My husband, Cory, and I relocated from Ohio to the Atlanta area in 2014 and immediately fell in love with the Georgia life!
The 2018-2019 school year will be my 5th year teaching. Before coming to Sharon Elementary, I taught as a 3rd grade teacher in Gwinnett County Public Schools. During my time in Gwinnett, I completed my gifted endorsement, enabling me to encourage innovative and creative thinking in my classroom. I enjoy fostering a supportive family-like feel in my classroom, where students feel supported and encouraged in their learning.
When I am not in the classroom, I enjoy crafting, sewing, quilting, and reading! My husband and I enjoy watching movies, attending concerts, going out to eat, and spending time with friends. We also love going on walks, playing, and exploring new areas with our dog, Delaney.
