I originally grew up in Lawrenceville, Georgia and attended Gwinnett County schools until I was a sophomore in high school. My family moved to East Tennessee and I finished high school and went to college there. I attended a small private college called Carson-Newman. I started teaching in Tennessee and realized how much I missed Georgia. I am starting my 18th year of teaching. I have taught everything from general 3rd-5th grade to a kindergarten behavior class to interrelated resource. I have a Bachelors Degree in Special Education, Elementary Education, a Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instruction, and an Education Specialist Degree in Educational Technology.
My husband, Joe, is an 8th grade social studies teacher at Liberty Middle School. We have two children: Natalie and Porter. They attend their homeschool, Vickery Creek Elementary.
