Jessica Parks My name is Jessica Parks. This is my first year in 1st grade and I am very excited to see what this year holds! I am starting my 18th year in Forsyth County. I have been at SCES for 7 years. I have taught in a variety of settings including special education, Pre- K, Kindergarten, and 3rd grade. I grew up in Forsyth County and graduated from North Forsyth High School in 1998. I graduated from Gainesville State College in 2012 with a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education and have my preschool endorsement. This is my 3rd year at Silver City and I love being a Comet! I attended the University of North Georgia and graduated with a dual degree in General Education and Special Education. I have a Reading Endorsement and am ESOL certified. In October, I will graduate with my Master's Degree in Elementary Reading and Math. I have been teaching first grade for four years now. My husband and I have one sweet daughter named Layla. We love spending time with her and taking family trips. I am looking forward to another great school year!

Sarah Russell 350288 SRussell@forsyth.k12.ga.usKatie Merritt Hi! My name is Katie Merritt and I’m so excited to be joining Silver City this year. The past eight years I’ve been teaching Kindergarten (2 years) and First Grade (6 years) at Daves Creek Elementary. I graduated from Georgia Southwestern State University with bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, and from University of West Georgia received master’s degree in Early Childhood Education. In addition, I’ve obtained both an ESOL and math endorsement. My husband Jeremy and I have been married for 10 years and we welcomed our sweet baby boy Leo in November of 2020. I enjoy reading, DIY projects and traveling. I absolutely love teaching first grade and I look forward to meeting my sweet kiddos and collaborating with all of their parents. 350290KMerritt@forsyth.k12.ga.usFelicia Tinsley Hi there! I'm Felicia Tinsley, and this will be my 9th year of teaching. My first year of teaching was in 3rd grade, and I've been teaching 1st grade ever since. I spent 6 years with Cherokee County School District and joined Forsyth County Schools in 2020. This will be my 3rd year here at Silver City. I absolutely love this school and all our staff. Teaching is my passion. I love helping kids to believe in themselves, learn how to be mindful, learn how to read while enjoying what reading has in store for them, and how to find the fun and magic in math. I'm that teacher who enjoys throwing a "Fun Friday", who is not afraid to dance crazy and sing at the top of my lungs with the kids, and will tear up at those "lightbulb moments" my students have throughout the year.
