I am thrilled to begin my 22nd year in education and am so happy to be a part of the third grade team at Silver City Elementary. I am so excited to work with the staff and students at Silver City and am looking forward to an amazing school year! Teaching is such a rewarding profession, and I absolutely love what I do.

I am a native of Grosse Pointe, Michigan (a suburb of Detroit). My husband and I relocated to Forsyth County in the summer of 2015, and we love our home in Georgia. We live in Cumming with our son, Griffin, daughter, Adelyn, and our rescue dog, Dixie.

I graduated from Albion College with a Bachelor's Degree in Education and English, and earned a Master’s Degree from the University of Michigan in Education with a concentration in Early Childhood Education. I believe that education is the foundation of our community, and I’m honored to have the opportunity to help students learn every day. I’m very excited to share my passion for learning with the students at Silver City.

When I’m not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, shopping, and cheering on my favorite Detroit sports teams. I also love to travel the world. I have been lucky enough to visit countries on 5 different continents. I’m always on the hunt for my next adventure!

This year will be my second as a Silver City Comet! It will also be my 17th year teaching, and for all of those years, I've been part Forsyth County Schools. Before teaching, I worked in the corporate world for 18 years, and making the career change was one of the best decisions of my life because I absolutely love teaching! Speaking of great decisions, I’ve been married to my sweet husband, Matt for 31 years, and we have one son, Ryan, who just recently graduated from Baylor Law, got engaged, and is now adulting! Matt and I have two-year-old Cavapoo pup named Eddie who definitely gives us a run for our money! In my spare time, I love watching Alabama football (Roll Tide!), reading, working in my yard, spending time with friends and family, and I absolutely LOVE playing games - especially trivia! I am looking forward to another great year in 4th grade!
