    Carrico   Laura Carrico
Twenty years ago I began my journey in education, and this is my 14th year at Vickery Creek Elementary. I have taught grades 2, 4, and 5 at VCE, and even spent one year teaching a K-5 writing class on the specials team. I was born in Washington, DC and grew up in Silver Spring, Maryland. I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Marine Biology from the University of Maryland in 1995, and completed my teacher certification at Brenau University in 2005. I live in Cumming with my husband, Mike, our dogs, Frankie and Sophie, and our cats, Tess and Finn. Teaching is hard work, but it is worth the effort when I get to share in the joy of exploration and discovery with my students.

    harris   Andrea Harris

Hi!  My name is Andrea Harris. I have been working in the field of education for over 30 years and believe that it is an amazing privilege to be entrusted with the responsibility of working with children. My students have taught me that being a good teacher is so much more than just covering curriculum. I realize that sometimes the smallest things I say and do have the biggest impact. I strive to help keep students’ natural curiosity alive by showing them that learning is both rewarding and fun.

I live in Cumming with my husband of 28 years, our daughter, who is a junior at the University of Georgia, and our Maltese puppy dog. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends and doing anything outdoors.

I am happy to start a new school year in second grade, and I look forward to all of the excitement ahead!
