Children go to physical education class twice weekly. During this time they learn games, sportsmanship, and how to be physically fit.

Students also go to art and music every week where they participate in hands on activities to broaden their horizons in fine arts.
Amanda Lemke - Art
I was born and raised in Orlando Florida. I graduated from Florida State University in 2001 with my degree in Architecture and Design. We moved to the Atlanta area in 2005 and LOVE living in North Georgia. In 2010, I graduated from Brenau Univesity with my Masters in Education. Combined, I have over 10 years in the education field with 6 of those years at Vickery Creek Elementary school. My passion is art and design and I love teaching art at the elementary level.

I like to call myself a Georgia native although I grew up in Washington and Arizona before moving to Georgia. I live here in Cumming with my husband, Christian, and our sweet puppy, Finley. When I’m not at school you’ll find me spending time with my family, on the lake, baking, hiking, or any fun DIY project!
This will be my seventh year teaching at Vickery Creek Elementary School. I recently graduated with a Masters of Education in Instructional Technology at Kennesaw State University. In 2016, I graduated from the University of North Georgia with a dual degree in Early Childhood and Special Education along with a Reading Endorsement. I cannot wait to meet my new students this year and share my passion for learning!

I graduated from High Point University with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education, and I also received my Master's Degree in Technology in Education from Lesley University in 2012. I am also gifted endorsed. I have taught second, fourth and fifth grades, eighth grade language arts, and gifted resource. I love reading, traveling, and spending time with my family. My name is Kassie Smith and I am the Health and Wellness Teacher for grades Kindergarten- 5th. This will be my eighth year teaching at Vickery Creek Elementary. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Health and Physical Education from the University of North Georgia, and recently received my certification in Mindfulness and Movement. I am excited to teach the students at VCE the importance of being physically, mentally, emotionally and socially healthy!

Welcome to the Vickery Creek Media Center! I have the privilege to be working with students, staff, and parents this year in our Media Center.
I grew up in Virginia and received my teaching degree from Roanoke College. I have taught 2nd grade, 4th grade, and have worked in Special Education.
I have lived in Georgia for 27 years with my husband Jimmy. We have 2 children who are VCE alums. Our son is a University of North Georgia graduate and lives here in Cumming. Our daughter is a junior at Kennesaw State University.
I love reading and more importantly helping students to become life long readers, learners, and leaders.
I also enjoy spending time with my family and enjoying the outdoors.
I am looking forward to working with our school community this year!

My name is Jack Maynard and I am a Physical Education teacher at Vickery Creek Elementary. This is my 19th year teaching elementary PE and my 15th year at Vickery Creek. I received a Bachelors Degree from Valdosta State(Health and PE), a Masters Degree from Kennesaw State(Educational Leadership) and a Specialist Degree from Piedmont College(Curriculum and Instruction). I have previously coached soccer at North Forsyth High School and Basketball at West Forsyth High School.
I am originally from England, I am married and I have 3 kids. I believe that the most important aspect of my job is to ensure your child develops a love of exercise that can last a lifetime. Vickery Creek PE is not about winning and losing, but focused on enjoyment, skill development and getting kids moving and active.

Hi I'm Bill Wortman. This is my 8th year at VCE. I was previously a middle school teacher in Fulton County. I love teaching about physical fitness and creating healthy habits in young people. I LOVE college football and can't wait to cheer on the TIDE!!

Dr. Tammy Evans Yonce, a Cumming native who graduated from Forsyth Central High School, is a flutist, collaborative musician, writer, and teacher. A Fulbright Scholar, she recently spent time teaching in Egypt. She is a dedicated new music performer who is internationally active and has performed in North America, South America, Asia, Africa, and Europe. She has released two albums. She attended Kennesaw State University, Indiana University, and the University of Georgia. Dr. Yonce is thrilled to be back home and looks forward to exploring the music of the world with the young leaders at Vickery Creek Elementary.
