Hello! My name is Rachel Ashworth and I am so excited to be coming back to the IRR position! I graduated in 2012 from Georgia College with a degree in Special Education and received my Masters in Education from the University of Georgia. Vickery Creek Elementary is the most special place to lead, learn, and grow and I am so thankful to be here! When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my husband, Tim, my daughters, Taylor Jane and Annie, and our newest addition to the family, our son Rhett. Of course, I can’t forget our Goldendoodle, Murphy. As a family, we love to cheer on the Georgia Bulldogs, go fishing, and spend time at the beach. I also enjoy spending time with friends, reading, and shopping! I am looking forward to a wonderful year!

Specialized Instruction (MO)
Hello! I am Mrs. Cunningham. This is my 11th year teaching. I went to Valdosta State University for my undergraduate degree in 2010. I graduated with my master's degree in special education from Georgia Southern University in 2021. I am married to another educator in Forsyth County, and we had our first baby in May of 2023. In my spare time, I love spending time with friends and family, playing tennis, and taking our daughter on adventures. Fun fact about myself, I attended Vickery Creek Elementary as a child, and I was in the first graduating class. I went on to Vickery Creek Middle, and I graduated from West Forsyth High School. Growing up in the Forsyth County schools with the support of my amazing teachers inspired me to become a special education teacher. I hope to inspire my students the same way I was inspired!

Hi! My name is Katie Johns, and I am so happy to be part of the VCE family. I attended Georgia Southern University and graduated with my Masters In Arts and Teaching. While at Southern, I met my husband, Ryan, and we have two kids, Charleigh and Colton, that also attend VCE.
When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family, being on the lake, and watching the Kansas City Chiefs! I coach Charleigh’s cheerleading squad and my husband coaches Colton’s youth sports, so you can most likely catch me at Midway Park.
This is such a special season of life, and I am looking forward to another year of helping our students succeed. It's going to be a great year!

My husband, Timothy and I have been married for 17 years. He is a retired Deputy Sheriff. We have two sons Keith (13) and Logan (9). We recently moved back to Timothy’s hometown of Rome, Ga. After graduating college, I was an Operations Manager for a local bank in Cumming. With the birth of my son Logan, I realized that I wanted a career change. My first experience in education was at a preschool where I worked my way up to Center Director. Realizing that teaching is my true passion, I joined Vickery Creek Elementary as a Kindergarten Paraprofessional. I am excited to continue my educational journey as a Special Education teacher! I chose Early Childhood Education because I believe that a lifelong love of learning is sparked early in children. Watching children learn and realize they really can accomplish their goals is something I am lucky to be a part of.
