• Math Curriculum

    The math curriculum includes the following concepts for each grade level.  A suggested pacing guideline of concepts is also noted.  However, teachers may deliver instruction at different intervals as needed or if time does not allow for all to be taught during a certain nine week period.
     
     
     

    6th Grade

    Math

    1st Nine Weeks: Number System Fluency; Rate, Ratio and Proportional Reasoning using Equivalent Ratios

    2nd Nine Weeks: Expressions; One-Step Equations; and Inequalities

    3rd Nine Weeks: Area, Surface Area, and Volume; Rational Exploration: Numbers and their Opposites

    4th Nine Weeks: Statistics; Show What We Know (Culminating Units 1-7)

    Math (On-level & Advanced): 

    1st Nine Weeks:  Operations with Rational Numbers; Expressions & Equations

    2nd Nine Weeks:  Inequalities; Ratios & Proportional Relationships; Scale Factor

    3rd Nine Weeks: Inferences; Geometry; Probability

    4thNine Weeks: Extension & Remediation of all 7th Grade Math Standards; Preview of 8th Grade Math Concepts

    1st Nine Weeks: Exponents; Geometric Applications of Exponents

    2nd Nine Weeks: Transformations, Congruence, and Similarity; Functions; Linear Functions

    3rd Nine Weeks: Linear Models and Tables; Solving Systems of Equations

    4th Nine Weeks: Extension & Remediation of Standards; Introduction of Coordinate Algebra Concepts

     

    Accelerated Coordinate Algebra/Analytic Geometry A

     

    1st Nine Weeks: Relationships Between Quantities; Reasoning with Equations and Inequalities; Linear and Exponential Functions

    2nd Nine Weeks: Linear and Exponential Functions (continued); Describing Data

    3rd Nine Weeks: Transformations in the Coordinate Plane; Connecting Algebra and Geometry Through Coordinates; Similarity, Congruence and Proofs

    4th Nine Weeks: Right Triangle Trigonometry; Circles and Volume.

     

    Accelerated Math 7

    1st Nine Weeks: Operations with Rational Numbers; Algebraic Expressions, Equations and Inequalities; Ratios and Proportional Reasoning; Inferences

    2nd Nine Weeks:  Transformations, Congruence and Similarity; Angle Constructions and Theorems; Exponents; Radicals

    3rd Nine Weeks: Radicals (continued); Geometric Applications of Exponents; Geometry: Circles and Solids; Probability; Functions

    4th Nine Weeks: Linear Functions; Linear Models and Tables; Solving Systems of Equations
