High School Spanish 1 is offered to 8th graders in middle school for high school credit.  The program is proficiency-based.  By the end of the first year of language study, students build skills to communicate and comprehend at a Novice High Level. Greater emphasis is placed on reading, listening and writing skills. The culture of various Spanish speaking countries is integrated into instructional activities and reading resources.
