Jana Austin My name is Jana Austin, and I am excited about teaching Prek at Poole’s Mill! I have a B.S. in Special Education from University of Georgia, with an ESOL endorsement. I am also finishing up my Master's in Reading Education at University of Georgia. I worked at Silver City Elementary School for 10 years, with 9 years being in Prek and one year in Kindergarten. I am excited about being at Poole’s Mill Elementary for its 3rd year. I am happily married and have five daughters. I am also the proud owner of Freya, the Poole’s Mill Elementary therapy dog! I am looking forward to another exciting school year! Go Pirates!

Crystal Brennan I have been teaching for several years and have loved every minute of it! I have taught third grade, fourth grade, interrelated second and third grade, and specialized instruction. I love learning and working with children. I have a B.S. in Special Education from Georgia Southwestern State University and a Master's in Moderate and Severe Handicaps from Georgia State University. I have a Bachelor's degree from Georgia Southern, a Masters from Piedmont College, and a Specialist from West Georgia - all in special education. I have been teaching special education since 2009 and I'm so excited to be a part of the Poole's Mill Family! 390218 vdalziel@forsyth.k12.ga.us Marie Haley I graduated from Wheelock College in Boston, MA in 1992 with a degree in Early Childhood Education and Young Children with Special Needs. I began my teaching career in Fulton County, working in the special needs Pre-K/Kindergarten department for 16 years. I received my Master's Degree in Interrelated Special Education from the University of North Georgia in 2001. I worked in Columbia, SC for 2 years in a self-contained classroom for children with specific learning disabilities. I have spent the last 11 years in the Interrelated Special Education Department at Mashburn Elementary. I have had the privilege of working at Poole’s Mill Elementary since it opened in August 2020. I have worked as an Interrelated Resource teacher with 4th/5th grade students. I believe that, with a strong collaborative team, anything is possible! I have an amazing husband and 3 beautiful girls. 390226 Katie Mendez Hi, Pirates! My name is Katie Mendez! I graduated from North Georgia College and State University in 2008 and earned my Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education & Special Education with a Reading Endorsement. I have been a Special Education teacher since 2009! My husband Robert and I are natives of Forsyth County Schools and live locally in the community! Our children, Robert and Anniston, are Poole’s Mill Pirates as well! We are all excited for another fantastic year at Poole’s Mill Elementary School!
390321 Stacey MacLean Hi Pirates! This is my 8th year teaching in Forsyth county. I live in the community with my husband and three children all in high school. I received my Bachelors in Early Childhood Education from Valdosta State University and my Masters in Curriculum and Instruction from GCSU. I also have my Gifted Endorsement and am certified in Special Education. It is important to me to make sure every student in my classroom is challenged and supported. My name is Iris Saunders and I am so excited for this school year! This will be my 22nd year of teaching and my 7th year teaching IRR. I graduated from Florida State University with both my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Special Education. My husband Jay and I have a 16-year-old daughter, Georgia, who goes to Denmark High School. When I’m not at school, I enjoy reading, gardening, watching college football, and traveling. I am so excited for this school year; I can’t wait to meet all of you!

I have taught 1st and 2nd grade IRR, K-2 Moderate Intellectual Disabilities, and 1-5 Skills Based Autism. I love spending time with my family and all things outdoors! I am a graduate from the University of North Georgia with a Bachelor's in Elementary and Special Education. I was born and raised in Cumming, GA. I graduated from Forsyth Central High School, and I am so excited about teaching in my hometown of Forsyth County! I spent my high school and college years at Primrose School of Cumming West to gain experience working with children ages 6 weeks to 5 years. I love everything Disney and spending quality time with family and friends.

After graduating, I was hired to teach at West Forsyth High school, where I taught Skills Based Autism for three years.
