Jana Austin My name is Jana Austin and I am excited to be teaching PreK at Poole’s Mill! I have a B.S. in Special Education from University of Georgia, with an ESOL endorsement, and am working on my Reading Endorsement, as well as a Masters in Reading Education. I worked at Silver City Elementary School for the last 10 years, with 9 years being in PreK and one year in Kindergarten. I am excited to join Poole’s Mill Elementary for its inaugural year! I am happily married and have five daughters. I am also the proud owner of Freya, the Poole’s Mill Elementary therapy dog! Crystal Brennan I have been teaching for several years and have loved every minute of it! I have taught third grade, fourth grade, interrelated second and third grade, and specialized instruction. I love learning and working with children. Marie Haley I graduated from Wheelock College in Boston, MA in 1992 with a degree in Early Childhood Education and Young Children with Special Needs. I began my teaching career in Fulton County, working in the special needs Pre-K / Kindergarten department for sixteen years. I received my Master's Degree in Interrelated Special Education from the University of North Georgia in 2001. I have spent the last 10 years in the Interrelated Special Education Department at Mashburn Elementary. Hi Pirates! My name is Katie Mendez and I am SO excited to continue my career as an educator this year at Poole's Mill Elementary School! I graduated from North Georgia College and State University in 2008 with a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education & Special Education with a Reading Endorsement.
My incredible husband Robert and I have been married 11 years and live local to the community! We have a handsome son (Robert) who is in third grade and a beautiful daughter (Anniston) who is in first grade at PMES. We have a lab named Toby, a cat named Binx and a pet snake named Banana! As a family, we enjoy camping and visiting the lake! We are so lucky to have the opportunity to join the Poole's Mill Pirate family and we are excited for an amazing adventure!!

I have taught 1st and 2nd grade IRR as well as K-2 Moderate Intellectual Disabilities. I love spending time with my family and all things outdoors! After graduating, I was hired to teach at West Forsyth High school, where I taught Skills Based Autism for three years.
