Mrs. Alyssa Degliumberto - Principal

I am fortunate to work alongside amazing students, parents, and teachers each day at John's Creek Elementary. Creating a lifelong love of learning for our students is such an important role as an educator, and continuing to be a lifelong learner as an educator is just as key to student success. I received my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education-biology from Trenton State College, an MBA from Georgia State University, an Educational Specialist Degree in leadership and supervision from Lincoln Memorial University, and I also hold a Gifted Endorsement.

Prior to moving to Georgia, I was a departmental science teacher for grades 5-8 in New Jersey. When we moved to Georgia, I joined Forsyth County at Big Creek Elementary. While there, I held a variety of teaching and leadership positions, including 5th-grade teacher and 5th-grade team leader.  My love for transforming my classroom instructional strategies by utilizing the amazing instructional technology resources Forsyth County has to offer led me to move into the Instructional Technology Specialist position.  As this K-5 curriculum and instruction leader, I was able to dive into K-5 standards in all subjects and go into classrooms to support students’ acquisition of these standards using a variety of instructional resources. I held this position for several years and then continued in this role working with students for the next four years as I helped open Sharon Elementary as their Instructional Technology Specialist. When Johns Creek Elementary opened, I had the privilege of opening our school as an Assistant Principal and was then appointed as Principal in 2009.

Visiting classrooms and interacting with students, parents, and teachers is such a rewarding part of my day! Being able to be a part of the moments when a child experiences success, when something new clicks, or when a light bulb of discovery lights up…is just priceless! No matter what career or path a student will choose, their elementary years help serve as the foundation for future success, and what better reward is there than knowing that you were a part of that!
