I am excitied to join the third grade team! This will be my 12th year as a classroom teacher. Previously, I have taught EIP, kindergarten, second grade, and third grade. I also have extensive experience in special education as a paraprofessional. I am originally from Cape Town, South Africa where I completed my schooling at Cape Town College of Education. This will be my 3rd year as a Brookwood Bobcat.

My name is Kim Dwyer, and I am thrilled to be part of the second grade team at Brookwood! This will be my 24th year teaching and my tenth year teaching at Brookwood! I received my undergraduate degree in Elementary Education from the University of South Florida and my Master's Degree in Reading from the University of Illinois-Chicago. I also received my Gifted Endorsement through Forsyth County Schools. I am looking forward to watching your child grow!

Mrs. Freese graduated from Auburn University with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. War Eagle! She taught 2nd Grade in Birmingham, Alabama for two years before moving to Georgia in 2020. This will be her 5th year here at Brookwood. She is passionate about teaching and helping her students learn and grow in all aspects of their education. She is so excited about another amazing year in 2nd grade!

Mrs. Rogers graduated from the University of Georgia, where she received her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Early Childhood Education and her gifted endorsement. Go dawgs! This will be her 6th year teaching at Brookwood. She is so thankful to be a part of the Brookwood family and looks forward to an awesome year of learning, growing, and fun with your 2nd grade students!

Mrs. Nestor has been teaching at Brookwood since the school opened. Being a part of such a special place has been a pleasure! Before Brookwood, She taught at Settles Bridge Elementary and was a teacher with Jefferson County in Alabama, teaching 2nd grade and Special Education. Mrs. Nestor earned her Master's Degree from Piedmont College in 2012 and received a Gifted Endorsement in 2015. Her life goal is to keep learning and growing every day!

Mrs. Sonmez graduated from the University of Alabama with a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood/Elementary Education (Roll Tide!) and received her Master's degree and Reading endorsement from the University of North Georgia. She taught Kindergarten and 1st grade for three years in Alabama. After moving to Forsyth County, she taught Kindergarten and 1st grade at Chestatee and Midway. She took time off to have her three children and returned to Brookwood in 2018. This is her 15th year teaching, and she is looking forward to an AWESOME year!
