2022-2021 marks the start of my seventeenth year as a teacher, and my 14th year at Brookwood Elementary. I earned my Bachelor's degree from Brenau University. While I have taught multiple grade levels and subjects, I am looking forward to another wonderful year in 5th grade, with lots of fun and exciting activities.

I am very excited about my fourth year of teaching and my fourth year at Brookwood Elementary. I graduated from Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas, and received my undergraduate degree in Elementary Education. I am committed to helping my students grow, and I look forward to the opportunities to learn from my students. It is going to be a great school year full of learning, new adventures, and discoveries!

Mrs. Hickey

Mrs. Hickey is excited about continuing her teaching career at Brookwood Elementary this year! She previously taught 3rd and 5th grade for the last six years at Whitlow Elementary, also in Forsyth County. Mrs. Hickey received her Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education and a minor in Spanish from Clemson University (Go Tigers!). She recently completed her Master's in Education, also through Clemson University. Mrs. Hickey is gifted endorsed. When not teaching, Mrs. Hickey enjoys hiking, traveling, spending time with family and her sweet dog, Magnolia. Come find Mrs. Hickey when you want to talk about college sports!

Ms. McClain

Hi! My name is Tamia McClain. I was originally born in New Orleans, Louisiana, and moved to Forsyth County in 2009. I'm a recent graduate from the University of North Georgia. This past year, I completed my student teaching in the 4th grade inclusion room at Vickery Creek Elementary. I have a dual degree in special and general education in grades P-5. I am so thrilled to announce that I'll be teaching 5th grade this upcoming school year. I can't wait to be a Brookwood Bobcat.

Mrs. McCormick

Mrs. McCormick will be starting her 25th year of teaching for the 22-23 school year. She earned her Bachelor's degree from SUNY New Paltz and her Master's degree from Brenau University. After teaching in the juvenile justice system for three years, she moved to public school in 2001 to teach 6th grade language arts and social studies. She has since taught 6th grade gifted math, ELA, and social studies before coming to Brookwood in 2014 to teach 5th grade.

Mrs. Miller

I am so happy to begin my third year with the fifth grade team. This will be my 13th year of teaching! I graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor's degree in Communication Science and Disorders in 1999. I then earned a Master's degree in Early Childhood Education from Georgia State University in 2002. I have previously worked in kindergarten, first grade, and fourth grade. I am excited each and every year to share my passion for reading and learning with my students. I can't wait to make this last year of elementary school their absolute favorite.

I am very excited about starting my 2nd year as a Bobcat and my 2nd year in 5th grade. The upcoming year will be my 9th year in Forsyth County - I was a paraprofessional at Kelly Mill Elementary before moving to Brookwood! I graduated from Grand Canyon University with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. I am looking forward to another great year in 5th grade!
