I earned my Bachelor's Degree from the University of West Georgia and a Master's Degree from Valdosta State in Math/Science Education. I have a specialist degree in Teacher Leadership from Piedmont College. My love of sports, fitness, and health motivated me to obtain my PE certification and find my true passion. I've taught 6th grade math, science, social studies, middle school PE/Health, and Elementary PE. I've also coached middle school basketball, and high school softball and soccer. I am so blessed to be a part of the Brookwood community and excited to start my 18th year in education.

I received my BA in Early Childhood Education in 2007 through North Georgia College and University. I taught 5th grade Math and Science at Big Creek Elementary in Forsyth County and moved to Brookwood Elementary when the school opened in 2009. I taught 5th grade for another three years at Brookwood. I completed my MA in Early Childhood Education in 2012 through Piedmont College and added a Science Endorsement to my certification. I have been teaching Science/STEM in our wonderful Brookwood STEM lab since 2012 and enjoy working with our amazing Brookwood students every day!

Music brings great joy, and I'm thrilled to bring that joy to the students at Brookwood Elementary. I have a degree in Music Education from the University of Georgia and have taught music to students from preschool to high school in both public and private schools. I love teaching music fundamentals and establishing the groundwork for lifelong musicians. I also have a passion for singing and directing choirs and hope your students will gain great confidence through our performances this year.

Coach May is beginning his 28th year of teaching Physical Education. He grew up in Snellville, Georgia, and attended Brookwood High School. This will be his 10th year at Brookwood Elementary. He graduated from West Georgia College and began his teaching career in Dekalb County, where he taught middle school for 17 years. He has coached multiple sports during his career but now loves hanging with his family. He is looking forward to a fun and safe year in the gym.

This is my 11th year teaching and my 7th year at Brookwood! I am extremely excited about beginning my third year as our Art Teacher! Before Brookwood, I spent four years teaching at Gainesville Elementary School. I earned my Associates Degree from Young Harris College in early childhood education, a Bachelor's Degree from The University of Georgia in child and family development, and a Master's Degree from Piedmont College in early childhood education. I have math, science, and ESOL endorsements. I am passionate about being crafty and creative, staying active and healthy, and I love any opportunity to try new things. I absolutely LOVE teaching at Brookwood!!
