Ms. Schimmel

Ms. Schimmel graduated from Oneonta State University with a degree in Early Childhood Education. She also received her Master’s degree in Reading and Literacy from GA State University. Ms. Schimmel has been a certified Special Education teacher for 13 years and has taught a variety of specialized classrooms. Ms. Schimmel is excited to begin her 21st year of teaching as a Bobcat! This will be Ms. Schimmel's 3rd year at Brookwood.

Hi! I am excited for another year of teaching here at Brookwood! Originally from Chicago, I graduated with my Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Roosevelt University and my Master’s degree in Teaching from Texas Woman’s University. Prior to my start in education, I worked in the government sector in administration and law enforcement for five years. I am married and have two toddler boys. I am looking forward to another year of helping my students learn, grow, and be the best version of themselves.

Mrs. Strang

Hello, Brookwood Family! My name is Samantha Strang, and I have been teaching for 13 years. I am originally from Tampa, FL, where I graduated from the University of South Florida. I have lived and taught in Georgia for 10 years. I have taught 1st, 2nd, and 4th grades as a general education teacher with 5 years of co-teaching. This will be my first year as an IRR teacher. I love spending time outdoors with my family, reading, and cooking. I am PAWsitively excited to spend the year learning and growing!

Hi! I am excited about starting my 7th year as a Brookwood Bobcat and my 21st year teaching! I hold a Bachelor's degree from Georgia Southern University, a Master's degree from Graceland University, a Specialist from Piedmont University, and a Reading Endorsement. I have experience across all grade levels, having taught all but 3rd! Outside the classroom, some of my interests are playing tennis, reading, and enjoying live music. Let's make today so awesome that yesterday gets jealous!

Mr. Hall graduated with his master's degree from Valdosta State University in Speech Language Pathologist. He has been working for the Forsyth County School System since 1999 and has been at Brookwood for 14 years.

Mrs. Jagiela

Mrs. Jagiela has been providing speech and language services for 13 years. She earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of Northern Iowa and a Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology from the University of Central Missouri. She is thrilled to be starting her 9th year part of the Brookwood speech team and is looking forward to an amazing year!!

Mrs. Plauche

Mrs. Plauche has been an SLP for 26 years. She earned her undergraduate degree in Communication Disorders from LSU and her masters in Speech Language Pathology from USM. She holds a Certificate of Clinical Competency (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and has worked in both medical and school-based settings. She is celebrating her eighth year with Forsyth County and her 6th year at Brookwood. She strives to increase speech and language skills in engaging ways and is so excited for another amazing year!

Mrs. Archer

Hello! My name is Emily Archer, and this is my 4rd year in Forsyth County and my 2nd year at Brookwood Elementary! I have a degree in Music Education from the University of North Georgia and several special education certifications. I am currently working on my Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Valdosta State University. I live with my husband, stepdaughter, two cats (GhostPepper and Gizzmo), snake (Slinkey, bearded dragon (Sapphire), and dog (Toffee). As a family, we love to play board games together. Mrs. McCavitt

Mrs. McCavitt is entering her 24th year of teaching. She graduated from Marshall University with a bachelor's degree in Education and is certified to teach the alternate curriculum in Georgia. She has taught 5th grade general education, K-5 in the Mild Intellectual Disability classroom, and is starting her 7th year at Brookwood. Mrs. McCavitt is thrilled to teach in a classroom where she can begin to teach at the level where each child is. She loves teaching and exploring replacement behaviors and finding ways for all of her students to be the best version of themselves. Her experience at Brookwood has been some of the best years in her teaching career, and she looks forward to having another amazing year with her wonderful, talented, fun, and sweet students!

Mrs. Mudulodu

Mrs. Mudulodu graduated from University of Tennessee with Masters of Occupational Therapy. She has been working with kids of all ABILITIES for over 10 years. She started her career working in out-patient clinics. This is her 6th year working in school systems and her 2nd year at Brookwood. She is so excited to be working at this awesome school!

Mrs. DePriest

I am excited about being a Brookwood Bobcat!! Although this will be my first year at Brookwood, I will be starting my 23nd year working in education. As a teacher, I have experience in kindergarten, third grade, and EIP. As a Para, I have worked in P.E, Kindergarten, IRR, and ACA.  

My husband and I have been married for almost 25 years. We have two sons. Our oldest son will be a college freshman, and our youngest will be a junior in high school. We also have two dogs and a cat.

I have a Bachelor's degree in Art with an emphasis in English and Social Studies and have worked with the Ymca of Metro Atlanta for 14 years. My passion is traveling and spending time with family. I consider it a privilege to be part of Brookwood Elementary, where every day is filled with excitement, joy, and smiles.

I have been working with kids for 27 years and have a degree in Early Childhood Development. This is my 6th year at Brookwood in the SBA class. I am married with three children, and in my spare time, I enjoy watching my kids on the field playing football, laxcrosse, and softball.
