Dr. Lynne Castleberry
Dr. Lynne Castleberry has thirty years experience in teaching and learning. She believes that all students at Whitlow Elementary are being prepared for leaders in jobs that don’t even exist, yet. She is proud of our staff and students at Whitlow and our State and International STEM Certification. The AdvancED Certification was obtained in November, 2015, and State of Georgia STEM Certification was obtained in May, 2017. Whitlow was one of 34 elementary schools receiving the AdvancED award and the first elementary school in Georgia.
She obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Brenau University, her Master’s degree in Education from Brenau University, her Specialist degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Georgia and finally, her doctorate from Clemson University. Prior to becoming principal, Dr. Castleberry taught in an elementary school and has served as an assistant principal. She is also the recipient of the Joe Richardson Award for Exemplary Leadership.
Dr. Castleberry is a Forsyth County native whose heart lies within Forsyth County School System. As a Forsyth County student herself and a mother of two daughters who attended Forsyth County schools, she has deep roots in the FCSS community. Dr. Castleberry’s mother also spent her entire career working in the Forsyth County School System. She appreciates the hard work and commitment that teachers give in their efforts into doing, in her words, “what’s best for kids”. In her free time, she enjoys time with her family, traveling, and fishing for redfish in the Gulf of Mexico.
