Carla Mitchell, Art
Mrs. Carla Mitchell is entering her tenth year teaching art at Whitlow. She graduated from North Georgia College and State University where she majored in Art Education.The Whitlow Elementary art curriculum is designed to enhance creativity, develop problem-solving skills, and foster a love of art. She loves to watch the level of creativity that pours out of her students.

Her main instruments are percussion instruments, but she enjoys learning about them all! Alex Evans is a graduate of Lee University. This will be his fourth year teaching PE and his second at Whitlow. Coach Evans is currently pursuing a masters degree in Kinesiology at UNG. He is extremely excited about teaching different sports skills and life-long activities to each of the Wolves at Whitlow!

She received her master's degree from Piedmont College and her specialist degree from Lincoln Memorial University. She also has endorsements in STEM, math, and gifted education. She is very excited to be teaching STEM specials this year! 370320 email@example.com Chris Hawlk, Science Mr. Hawlk earned his bachelor's degree in Middle Grades Education and his master's degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of North Georgia. He also has his Specialist degree in Curriculum Development from Lincoln Memorial University. He has a science, reading, and gifted education endorsement. Mr. Hawlk has been teaching in Forsyth County for fourteen years, Before becoming the "science specials" teacher, he taught 4th and 5th grade math and science. His wife, Hannah, is the Media Specialist at Whitlow, and he has two boys, Chess and Charlie, who attend Whitlow in the 2nd grade and Pre-K. She taught for 12 years in Gwinnett County before moving to Forsyth County Schools. Mrs. Brott earned her bachelor’s degree from Mercer University and a master’s degree from Brenau University both in early childhood education. She has also earned gifted and science endorsements. Alex Whitten is a health and Physical Education Graduate of Kennesaw State University. This will be her first year as part of our school. As a part of our school she hopes to give your students the skills necessary to create life long healthy habits. She is extremely excited to make a difference here at Whitlow.

I earned my Bachelors of Science in Early Childhood Education from Armstrong Atlantic State University in Savannah. I am excitedly entering my 18th year of teaching, and love it more than ever! I have taught pre-k, 2nd, 3rd, 5th, technology classes, and this year I am excited to be working with the all of our students on Media Production! I was honored to be named Teacher of the Year for Whitlow for the 2018-19 school year and was a top 7 finalist for the county. I am so very thankful to be a part of this incredible school system!
