A new county-wide procedure has been established this year requiring all elementary students be tagged with green, yellow or red zip ties. The color of this zip tie allows the driver, as well as any substitute drivers, know if your student is allowed to walk home alone from the stop. 3rd through 5th grade students must also retain their tag on their bookbags.
Kindergarten through 2nd grade students must be met by a parent or guardian or a parent's designee who is in possession of a Student Release Pass which was forwarded to them by the parent. If you are in need of a Student Release Pass, please email firstname.lastname@example.org specifying your request.
Any student, including 3rd through 5th, that has removed the tag from their backpack may be returned to the school due to improper communication to the driver/sub-driver regarding his/her bus stop release.
If your student has received a new backpack, please retain your plastic tag and let your driver know you need a new zip tie. Please do not use a zip tie of a different color.
Please understand that this is for the safety of your student(s) and not intended to be an inconvenience.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Are you interested in being a bus driver or know someone who would be a great bus driver?
