Polly Tennies, K-5 Principal Dr. Tennies has 32 years of experience in public education. This is her 9th year as Chestatee's Principal. She graduated from Juniata College, Huntingdon, PA with a B.A. in Elementary/ Early Childhood Education. She went on to purse her M.S. as a Reading Specialist at Loyola College in Baltimore, MD. She received her Leadership Certification from the University of Georgia and completed her doctorate in Educational Leadership at Kennesaw State University. Dr. Tennies has taught elementary school, been a literacy coach, and an assistant principal. She is a National Board Certified Teacher and a past Forsyth County Teacher of the Year. Her heart is at Chestatee, as her own sons attended school here. Being a military spouse gave Polly opportunities to travel and learn in schools in many locations. As the mother of an Air Force ROTC son and a Navy officer she appreciates hard work and commitment to duty. In her free time she enjoys playing tennis and spending time with her family. 722004 firstname.lastname@example.org Robert Boyd, K-2 Assistant Principal Mr. Robert Boyd has sixteen years in public education, with twelve years at North Forsyth High School. Prior to entering public education, Mr. Boyd spent four years in the United States Marine Corps. He earned his Bachelor's Degree from Auburn University, Master's Degree from University of North Georgia, and Specialist Degree from Columbus State University. In his free time, Mr. Boyd enjoys reading, wood working, and watching Star Wars with his family! He and his wife, Michelle, have three children, Jackson, Mitchell, and Evie, who are with him at Chestatee. Mrs. Gaines is entering her 9th year at Chestatee Elementary and 14th year as an educator. She has taught and led teachers in grades K-5 in her years as a classroom teacher, gifted educator, Title 1 Support teacher, Instructional Coach, and Quality Work Facilitator. She graduated from North Georgia College and State University with a dual degree in Early Childhood and Special Education in addition to a reading endorsement. She then went on to gain her Gifted Endorsement, Teacher Leader Endorsement and a Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education. Most recently, she completed her Leadership Certification at Kennesaw State University. She is very excited to continue her journey at Chestatee Elementary supporting students, families, and staff as the Assistant Principal for grades 3, 4, and 5. After school, Abby enjoys reading, cooking, cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs, and exploring the outdoors with her husband, Michael, and their two boys, Canyon and Maddux.
722430 Angela Perry, Quality Work Facilitator
Angela Perry started her teaching career in the Cobb County School District in 2006. During her tenure there, she taught fifth and third grades and served as a Title 1 Academic Coach. After relocating to Forsyth County in 2018, she began working with students in the Early Intervention Program at Chestatee. This year, Dr. Perry is so excited to be the Quality Work Facilitator, working closely with school leadership and providing support for teachers, students, and families.
Dr. Perry has earned degrees with focuses in Early Childhood Education, Curriculum, Instruction & Assessment, and Higher Learning and Adult Education. She is married and has two children. As a family they enjoy reading, painting, exploring nature, and visiting the beach as often as possible! Dr. Perry is so excited to continue building relationships at Chestatee!
