Mrs. Kelley Crandall’s is a graduate of The University of West Florida with a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. This will be her 21st year teaching and has been here at Chestatee for 12 years. She is the proud mother of an eighth grader at Little Mill. Although she has taught kindergarten through eighth grade, kindergarten is her favorite. Helping both parents and her sweet students adjust to the new expectations of elementary school is one of the pieces of teaching kindergarten she treasures. Mrs. Crandall believes that communication and building connections is key to a successful year and can’t wait to meet her new class and their families.
This is Mrs.Drane's fourth year at Chestatee, and eleventh year in Forsyth County schools. She is excited to meet her awesome kindergarteners! Mrs. Drane graduated from North Georgia College and State University with a degree in History. After working as a kindergarten paraprofessional for several years, she went back to school and graduated from Liberty University with her Masters of Arts in Teaching. Mrs. Drane is a Forsyth county native, and lives with her husband, spoiled rotten cat, Jackets and handsome son, Randy. Mrs. Drane is looking forward to meeting you at open house!
Leah Duval is so excited to be starting her 3rd year at Chestatee on the Kindergarten team. She has worked in the Private Pre-Kindergarten setting, and 3rd Grade in public education. This past year, Leah earned her ESOL endorsement after attending Forsyth County's year long training program. She and her husband, Rick, have two girls (one who will attend 3rd grade at Chestatee, and the other who will be in 9th grade at Lambert). They love spending time outdoors. Her gifts to teaching are a big heart and having a strong enthusiasm for creating life long learners. She can’t wait for next year!
Amy Beth Garrett
Amy Beth Garrett has spent her teaching career at Chestatee Elementary. She has a BS of Consumer and Family Sciences from UGA, Teaching Certificate from West Ga. College, Masters from University of North Ga, and Specialist degree from Lesley University. She also has her Gifted Certification. She loves teaching in the caring environment of Chestatee. She has taught both kindergarten and 2nd grade and is returning to Kindergarten for the 21-22 school year.
Mrs. Jenkins is very excited to be teaching Kindergarten at Chestatee Elementary this year! She received her Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and Master's Degree in Elementary Literacy from Western Carolina University. This year will be her ninth year of teaching. She loves making learning fun and engaging, while ensuring that she meets the needs of all her students. She loves teaching Kindergarten and instilling a love for learning at a young age. She is glad to be a part of the Chestatee family!
This will be Emily Ray’s first year of teaching. She was a Paraprofessional at Chestatee for the 2020-2021 school year. She is so excited to be at the T and to be teaching Kindergarten. Emily graduated from the University of West Georgia with a Bachelor’s in Early Childhood Education. She is currently furthering her education by getting her Masters in Early Childhood Education. Emily can’t wait for the school year! She loves being a part of Chestatee!
This will be Beth Shelton's 20th year of teaching. She has been at Chestatee 13 years. Mrs. Shelton received both her Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Auburn University. She has taught both general education and special education. Mrs. Shelton is very excited to be working with the students of Chestatee.
This will be Alicia Tilden's 18th year teaching, and 9th year teaching at Chestatee. Mrs. Tilden received her Bachelor's degree from Georgia Southern University and her Master's degree from Mercer University. She has had the wonderful opportunity to teach kindergarten, second, third and fifth grade. She is very excited to be teaching kindergarten for the 9th year in a row this year. She loves being a part of the Chestatee family!
This will be Penny Wade's 19th year at Chestatee Elementary. She has previously taught at Chattahoochee Elementary and Matt Elementary. Mrs. Wade attended Auburn University and North Georgia College and State University. She has a bachelor's of science in Special Education and a Master's degree in Early Childhood Education. Mrs. Wade has taught kindergarten for 19 years, first grade for 5 years, and second grade for 4 years. She will be teaching kindergarten for the upcoming 2021-2022 school year and she loves being a part of the Chestatee Elementary family!
