Denise Bergey will be joining the Second Grade Team. She has taught for over 10 years in grades PreK-5. She and her husband, Dave, have three children; a daughter who attends UGA, two sons in high school, and a Lab named Chap. They family loves the great outdoors. She holds her Masters Degree in Elementary Education and endorsements in both math and gifted education.
Sarah Chewning has been teaching at Chestatee for eleven years. She is currently teaching second grade. Prior to this, she worked at Coal Mountain Elementary for seven years. She has taught in Kindergarten, First, Second, and Third grades. She graduated from Forsyth County High School and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from Georgia State University. She then obtained a teaching certificate and a Master of Arts in Teaching degree from Brenau University. Later, she received a Specialist degree in Curriculum and Instruction.
Mrs. Davis is a graduate of Georgia College & State University and has a Master’s degree in Teaching from Brenau University. She has been a teacher at Chestatee for eighteen years and this is her eleventh year as a 2nd grade teacher. Mrs. Davis has experience in special education, kindergarten, and second grades.
Abigail Elrod will be joining the second grade team at Chestatee Elementary this year. Abigail graduated from Toccoa Falls College with a Bachelors in Early Childhood education with ESOL and reading endorsements. Abigail is so excited to begin her teaching journey at Chestatee and plans to work with her students strengths to grow their love for learning more each day! She knows that this school year is going to be a great one!
This will be Mrs. Hall's 4th year at Chestatee Elementary and her 12th year teaching elementary school. Mrs. Hall graduated from Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina in 2007. She also has her Gifted Endorsement. She loves teaching 2nd grade and is looking forward to an exciting new year!
Mrs. Loftus is entering her eighth year of her teaching career. This will be her second year teaching second grade, prior to that she taught third grade and kindergarten. She attended Piedmont College, where she received her Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education. Since graduating from Piedmont, Mrs. Loftus has obtained her math endorsement. Mrs. Loftus is excited for the 2019-2020 school year!
This will be Mrs.Mullinax's 8th year at Chestatee and her 12th year teaching. Mrs. Mullinax graduated from the University of Georgia with a degree in Early Childhood Education, specializing in K-2 and a Math endorsement. She has taught 2nd grade for her whole career. She is very excited to continue as a 2nd grade teacher for the 2019-2020 school year!
It’s going to be a great year in 2nd grade! Mrs. Schwartz graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay with a degree in Early Childhood Education. She also received her Master's in Educational Technology from Lesley University and her Specialist's in Curriculum and Instruction from Piedmont College. She has taught 4th, 1st, and 2nd grades. Mrs. Schwartz and her husband have 3 children, Matthew, Tucker, and Evelynne.
This will be Ms. Styles second year at Chestatee Elementary and her seventh year as an educator. Ms. Styles graduated from Clemson University with a degree in Early Childhood Education. She then went on to receive her Master's Degree from the University of North Georgia in Early Childhood Education and her Gifted endorsement. She has had the joy of teaching Kindergarten and Second Grade. She is very excited to be teaching Second Grade at Chestatee Elementary. She is looking forward to meeting all of her sweet students!
