This will be Mrs. Carley's 18th year at Chestatee Elementary and her 28th year as an educator. Mrs. Carley graduated from Illinois State University with a degree in Elementary Education. She later graduated with a Master's Degree in Education Technology and a Specialist's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction. She has enjoyed teaching 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades in Illinois, Florida, and Georgia. She is looking forward to teaching this year's great group of students!
This is Mrs.Drane's second year at Chestatee, and 9th year in Forsyth County schools. She is excited to meet her awesome 3rd graders! Mrs. Drane graduated from North Georgia College and State University with a History degree. After working as a kindergarten paraprofessional for several years, she went back to school and graduated from Liberty University with her Masters of Art in Teaching. Mrs. Drane is a Forsyth county native, and lives with her husband and spoiled rotten cat, Jackets. Mrs. Drane is looking forward to meeting you at open house!
This will be Amy Garrett's 25th year teaching. Ms. Garrett received both her Bachelor's and Master's degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of North Georgia. She has taught in 1st grade, 2nd grade, 3rd grade, 4th grade and Title/EIP. She is very excited to be teaching 3rd grade again this year!
This is Mrs. Hundt's 8th year teaching at Chestatee! She is so excited to welcome a new group of 3rd graders! Mrs. Hundt graduated from Gainesville State College with her Early Childhood Education degree. Because she strongly believes learning is a life-long journey, she has continued to attend school over the years. First, she received her Master's Degree from Georgia State in K-12, Language, Literacy, and ESOL. After graduating with her Master's Degree, she attended classes through Piedmont, where she received her Specialist in Education as well as her Leadership Addition. Mrs. Hundt has a passion for learning and hopes to share that with you! She cannot wait to meet you at open house!
This will be Ms. Martin's 21st year at Chestatee. Ms. Martin graduated from North Georgia College and State University with a degree in Early Childhood Education. She also earned a Master's Degree from Grand Canyon University in Curriculum and Instruction with Technology. Ms. Martin has taught 3rd and 4th grades. She has worked with students in K-5th grades in Enrichment, Learning Academy, and Robotics. Ms. Martin believes that learning is a lifelong journey and she can't wait to share that journey with you in the upcoming year.
Lucy Murray has been teaching in Forsyth County Schools for thirteen years. She graduated from the University of Georgia with a degree in elementary education. She holds a Masters degree in elementary reading and math and a Specialist degree in Teacher Leadership. She completed her gifted endorsement in 2015. She has a love of reading and believes learning math should be fun! This is her fourth year teaching at Chestatee Elementary. Mrs. Murray is very excited to teach third grade this year!
This will be Mrs. Skinner's first year at Chestatee Elementary but her 6th year as an educator in Forsyth County Schools. Mrs. Skinner graduated from North Georgia College with a degree in Early Childhood Education with reading and ESOL endorsements. She has had the joy of teaching kindergarten for the past five years and one year as a Title 1 teacher for K-2. She is very excited to teach 3rd grade at Chestatee this year. She looks forward to meeting her new students and having a great year!
Kelly Sumner is new to Chestatee this year but has been teaching in Forsyth County for the past sixteen years. She has taught both second grade and third grade at Sawnee and Daves Creek Elementary. She graduated from Georgia Southern University and holds her degree in Early Childhood Education along with her science endorsement. She enjoys hands-on creative learning opportunities and takes pride in making school fun and meaningful for her students. Miss Sumner is so excited to be a Chestatee Eagle and is looking forward to a fantastic school year!
