This will be Rebekah Cox's 6th year of teaching Mrs. Cox received both her Bachelor's and Master's degree from Brenau University and her Specialist degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Piedmont College. She has enjoyed teaching math in 6th, 7th, and 8th grades and is looking forward to coming back to her roots in 5th grade. She loves building relationships with her students and helping them understand and love math. She is excited to be a part of the Chestatee family.
This is Hanna Fyle’s first year teaching! She is more than thrilled to be a part of Chestatee’s family. She graduated from the University of North Georgia with her Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood and Special Education. She did a portion of her internship at Chestatee. She will be joining the fifth grade team. She can not wait for the amazing relationships she will build here at the T. Ext. 722466
This will be Mrs. Hagler's 4th year at Chestatee Elementary and her 13th year as an educator. It will also be her third year leading the fifth grade team at Chestatee. Mrs. Hagler graduated from Berry College with a degree in Early Childhood Education and an ESOL endorsement. She later completed the requirements for her math and gifted endorsements as well. She has had the privilege of teaching 1st, 4th, and 5th grades. She is looking forward to teaching ELA and social studies again to 5th graders this year.
This will be Ms. Hamby's 4th year as an educator in Forsyth County, and her first year at Chestatee Elementary. Ms. Hamby graduated from the University of North Georgia with a degree in Early Childhood and in Special Education. She has taught 3rd grade for the past three years at Johns Creek Elementary, and in 2018 she graduated with her Masters degree in Early Childhood Education from Piedmont College. Ms. Hamby also has both reading and gifted endorsements. Ms. Hamby's teaching philosophy is to help a child realize that he or she can be successful no matter the circumstances. She is excited to be apart of the Chestatee 5th grade family, and plans to learn as much from her kids as they learn from her!
Mrs. Kirk is thrilled to be at Chestatee again this year! It is her second year here and her 14th year as an educator. She graduated from North Georgia College and State University in 2006 with a degree in Early Childhood and Special Education. She also has her reading endorsement. Mrs. Kirk taught 2nd Grade for 7 years in Gainesville City before becoming an Academic Coach. She also led Instructional Technology and Data Analysis while in that position for 3 years. While she enjoyed coaching, she was eager to get back in the classroom and came to Forsyth County in 2016 where she taught 3rd Grade and then the Audio Visual Pathways class at Silver City. Since being at Chestatee, she has been a 5th grade teacher and loves working with our amazing staff and students!
This will be Mrs. Splawn's second year at Chestatee Elementary and her eleventh year as an educator. Mrs. Splawn graduated from Georgia Southern University with a degree in Early Childhood Education. She later graduated from Columbus State University with a Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education with a reading endorsement. She has taught third, fourth, and fifth grades. She is very excited to teach math and science to 5th graders this year. She knows it is going to be a fantastic year!
This will be Kimberly Ware’s 12th year teaching in Forsyth County but 1st year at Chestatee. She received both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Early Childhood Education from Georgia Southern University. She has taught 3rd grade for the past 11 years but is looking forward to teaching 5th grade this school year. She looks forward to being a part of the Chestatee family and building relationships with her students and their parents!
This will be Ms. Warner’s second year at Chestatee Elementary. Ms. Wade graduated from North Georgia College and State University with a dual degree in Early Childhood and Special Education in addition to a reading endorsement. She is very excited to teach ELA to a group of amazing 5th graders! She knows this year is going to be an awesome year filled with learning and fun!
This will be Carmen Weaver’s seventh year teaching in Forsyth County. Mrs. Weaver received her Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from the State University of West Georgia. She received her Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education and Specialist in Curriculum and Instruction from Piedmont College. Mrs. Weaver enjoys continually learning about the best teaching strategies in order to provide a fun and engaging learning experience for children. Building a strong community and providing opportunities for student leadership create an inspiring learning environment in her classroom.
