Thank you for your patience as we strive, amidst our driver shortage, to get students to school. Our dispatch office, your drivers and all of transportation is working hard to get each student to school. We appreciate you and your patience and understanding.
Please partner with your bus driver by encouraging and reviewing Safe, Orderly And Respectful (SOAR) bus riding habits with your student(s).
SOAR Bus Rules, Code of Conduct information regarding the school bus, and our Three Step Student Management Plan is listed at the appropriate page in the left column.
Link to the on-line FCS Transportation Registration Form: https://www.forsyth.k12.ga.us/Page/51826.A county-wide procedure requiring all elementary students to be tagged with a green, yellow or red SOAR Student Badge.
The color of this badge tells the driver, more importantly any sub-drivers, if your student is allowed to walk home alone from the stop.
3rd through 5th grade students must retain this tag on their bookbags. Any student without a SOAR Student Badge on their bookbag may be returned to the school regardless of grade for their safety.
Kindergarten through 2nd grade students must be met by a parent/guardian or parent's designee who is in possession of a Student Release Pass which would be forwarded to them by the parent. Before school starts, Student Release Passes will be available through Parent Portal as well as when new bus assignments are made.
If you, as a parent/guardian, are in need of a Student Release Pass, please...
- log into your Parent Portal account,
- click on documents and there, parents of yellow and red tagged students, you should see
- the pass listed as: "Transportation Bus Pass 23-24". (Or current school year.)
If you have questions about a Parent Portal account, please contact your school.
Any student, including 3rd through 5th, that has removed the SOAR Student Badge from their backpack may be returned to the school due to the lack of communication to the driver/sub-driver regarding his/her bus stop release.
If your student receives a new backpack, please make sure to move the SOAR Student Badge to the new backpack.
Also, if your student uses alternating backpacks please remember to swap the SOAR Student Badge to the new backpack.
Please understand that this is for the safety of your student(s) and not intended to be an inconvenience.
