I look forward to another year in the classroom, because it is where I find great joy! I love teaching & having the opportunity to share in the passions of my learners every day. Learning alongside them, inspires all of us to expand our minds, brings us together as a caring classroom community, & supports student ownership of learning."Do what you love, and love what you do." ~Thoreau

I am a graduate of Michigan State University with eighteen years of teaching experience. I have taught many different grade levels, and I am continually amazed at how unique each experience is. All in all, inspiring students to learn and be self directed is my favorite part!
Mrs. Jacobsen's ePortfolio Email Mrs. Jacobsen Mrs. Susan Madore I'm so excited to be working with your child. Fourth grade is an exciting time to learn and grow. I look forward to helping your child during this important transitional year. I am originally from New Jersey - the daughter of two school teachers. I graduated from Rutgers University with a degree in Economics and went on to obtain my CPA. After working in the corporate world for several years, I left to start a family. It was during this time with my children that I discovered my desire to teach. With two parents being teachers, I guess it's always been in my blood! I went back to school to Brenau University to get my teachers certification and feel that I have truly found my calling. I've been at Shiloh Point since it opened in 2006. I am so excited to be back at Shiloh Point, and I’m looking forward to a great year in 4th grade! This is a big year for kids: most of them complete their first decade and move into double-digits, they receive percentage grades for the first time, and they are really beginning to discover what they’re passionate about. My goal is to provide an environment in which students can develop those passions, enjoy a strong sense of community, and take ownership of their learning.
