I am so excited to serve as the principal of Kelly Mill.

This is my 27th year in education. I hold degrees in Early Childhood, a Master’s Degree in Reading, a Master’s Degree in Leadership, and an Education Specialist Degree in Curriculum and Instruction. I am originally from south Georgia (Valdosta) and moved to Cumming in 2000 when I began teaching at Cumming Elementary. I served as an Assistant Principal at Chattahoochee and Mashburn before becoming Principal at Mashburn in 2009. I was fortunate to then lead Brookwood Elementary from 2017 – 2022 before coming to Kelly Mill.

My husband and I have 2 amazing children, Jordan (18) and Josie (14), 2 dogs, 2 cats, 4 rats, a small turtle and many fish and random small critters the girls bring into the house. Our weekends are filled with lacrosse games and family time. My oldest daughter is at UGA - GO DAWGS!

I strive to make every day AWESMAZING for your children. I live out our mission, “Be the Light- Be the Good!”.

Hello Kelly Mill Colts! I'm Marla Callahan, and I am honored to have been chosen to serve as KME Assistant Principal for grade 2 and 5. I am looking forward to getting to know all of you.

With over 23 years of experience in education in Georgia, I taught middle school math and social studies, worked as an instructional coach, and held various administrative roles from Kindergarten to 12th grade in Pickens County. I even worked at a technical college with adult learners. During my nine years in administration, I've been an assistant principal at junior high and high school levels, and a principal at an elementary school for five years before joining the Forsyth County community last year. Recently, I've been an Assistant Administrator at West Forsyth High School.

I earned my Bachelor’s Degree from Brenau University, my Master’s from Piedmont College, and most recently my Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership from Kennesaw State University. Outside of work, my husband Michael and I enjoy traveling, fishing, watching our Atlanta Braves and Georgia Bulldogs, and have just dipped our toes into the world of Pickleball. I can't wait to begin my new journey as a Kelly Mill Colt and be part of this awesome team!

My husband, Chuck, and I are blessed with two wonderful children, our son Charlie and our daughter, Molly.

I am so excited to serve as the Assistant Administrator for grades 1st and 4th at Kelly Mill for the 24-25 school year.

The 2024-2025 school year will be my 16th year in education. I hold a B.S. in Business Administration from Reinhardt University, and an MAT in Special Education from Valdosta State University. I spent 10 years in the classroom as a middle school IRR teacher at Sweetwater MS in Gwinnett and Piney Grove MS in Forsyth before becoming Graduation Coach in the opening of DeSana MS. The past five years I have worked as a Special Education Facilitator supporting many different schools in Forsyth during that time.

My wife, Jamie, and I have 3 amazing children, Ella (13), Chance (11) and Connor (11) and they will all be attending Liberty MS next year. Most nights and weekends are spent either at Cheer or Lacrosse but when we get a free moment, you will find us on the lake or by the pool relaxing.
