Amanda Bausman

Hello KME Families! My name is Amanda Bausman. This is my 18th year teaching. I have taught Kindergarten, First, and Second Grades. I am originally from Ohio, where I received my Bachelor’s in Early Childhood Development, Bachelor’s in Elementary Education, and Master’s in Health Studies from The Ohio State University. My husband, Shawn and I have two boys. Baker will be in Fourth Grade at KME and Wesley will be in Seventh Grade at Hendricks. We have lived in Forsyth County for 12 years now and couldn’t imagine living anywhere else. In my spare time (just kidding I don’t have spare time), I am cheering or screaming on the sidelines of the soccer field watching my two boys play.

Melissa Goldsberry

My name is Melissa Goldsberry and I am excited to be teaching second grade again this year! I grew up in Cumming and have lived in the area most of my life. I now live in Dahlonega near Amicalola Falls with my husband, Scott of 25 years. We have a small hobby farm where we love raising animals and learning how to live off of the land. I have a step-daughter, Christi that has two boys ages 6 and 10 and a daughter, Ashley, that has three girls ages 4, 2 and 1. She is expecting a baby boy in the fall. Being a Mimi is my favorite title!

I have by Bachelors degree in early childhood education. I have taught Georgia Pre-K for 6 years, worked in kindergarten as an instructional assistant for 6 years and just finished my 12th year at Kelly Mill where I have taught kindergarten and second grade. I earned my math endorsement and gifted endorsements through Forsyth County. I am looking forward to my 19th year in this county and am excited to enter my 25th year of teaching. I love being a part of the colt community!

Patti James

My name is Patti James, and I teach in the DLI program in 2nd grade at Kelly Mill. I love the Spanish language and truly cherish connecting with Spanish speakers. I want to spread this love and excitement in my classroom. I was raised in Texas, and my husband and I moved to Georgia about 26 years ago. In Texas I studied at Baylor University and earned a bachelor's degree in Education and minor in Spanish. I also have a certificate in teaching Gifted and Talented students.
I have taught bilingual pre-k and Kinder, an English Kindergarten, and then stayed at home to raise our own children. I started my teaching journey back again when Kelly Mill opened and couldn’t be happier here! Here I have taught kindergarten, the Media Center, 3rd, 1st, and 2nd grades. I really enjoy teaching Spanish now in the DLI program in 2nd grade.
I have been married to my husband, Scott, for 30 years, and we have three amazing children. Hunter is 26. He and his wife, Julianna, both work for Home Depot Corporate; my son Dawson, 24, is an accountant; and our daughter, Skylar, 20, goes to UGA. I love walking, gardening (flowers), and traveling with my hubby and family. I truly feel blessed to be part of the KME family. The people here are so life-giving and encouraging, and I feel blessed to have landed here!
GO COLTS!!
